Shows that deserved more seasons but the executives would rather greenlight more teen titans go

The Zelda cartoon, it has only one season! It's peak saturday morning comfyness and I couldn't get enough of "excuuuse me princess". At least it ends on a high note.

The Oblongs only lasted one season and was fantastic and hilarious. Amazing cast with Will Ferrell, Jean Smart and Billy West to name a few.

Mission Hill is a very underrated show that was not given a chance. Brian Posehn as Jim and their neighbors Wally and Gus always stole the show.

Great and absurd high school teen comedy. RIP Patrice O'Neil. Every episode involved some strange and totally random event called "The Weirdness" that completely changes the town and its people for a brief period.

3-South, Del and Sanford are two lovable idiots that attend the worst rated college in the county. Best portrayal of how ridiculous American college life can be in a TV show.

I forgot about that.

But, goddamn did it had great fight scenes (which is what i remember).
Yeah, it was one of the shows I'd be super excited for each Saturday. Both shows got treated bad. Something about not being able to sell toys targetted towards young boys of female characters or something.

Guy already said Oblongs but it for sure got bitched, which I get from a business standpoint but the premise of a dystopian society/dysfunctional protagonist family was super interesting!

It had good slapstick and clever jokes, edgy but not bland, likeable cast and all!

Also, it gave us Creepy Susie!

3rd season of Sonic SatAM. I will defend Power Rangers, but it was a dumb move for ABC executives to cancel the show and replace it with garbage such as Dumb & Dumber, Fudge, few live action shows that no one knows, and Disney's Doug which got a 3rd season instead of Sonic. WTF?

Super Mario Bros. Super Show. I know Mario 3 and Mario World were considered Seasons 2 and 3, and Nintendo is strict with their IPs, but I want to see more adventures with Mario and the gang maybe do a Super Mario Kart Spinoff, Dr. Mario Spinoff or Super Mario Land 1 & 2 Spinoff since those games were around or close to Mario 3 and Mario World.

Poor poor Infinity Train, original premise, very good soundtrack, great acting, a good variety of protagonists, decently graphic deaths when they happened, got cancelled for not having a "child entry point" whatever that means

I don't have one in mind but I would like to see more action /serialized show that are experimental and has 3 seasons at most

I've been eyeing this thread for a little while, I have to give in. I don't really watch much outside of anime these days but I really miss the era of cartoons that felt like they respected the audience. I'm not saying every show needs to be serious, gritty, or dark. But the more we get that treats the people like they are idiots or aren't capable of nuance the worse entertainment feels. And frankly, there's a lot of weird stuff in Anglo-American media nowadays that wouldn't fly here to put it politely.

I was glancing at what's on today since I have to babysit fairly regularly these days. Even my nieces don't really like what's on TV anymore, we've taken to watching everything from that ranges from Batman the Animated Series, Tokyo Mew Mew and Courage the Cowardly Dog. The last thing we watched was Avatar: Legend of Aang, it really made me despair there's very little like that anymore.

My pick for the thread is Batman Beyond.

I am totally with you on the first point. As a kid I didn't need everything to be dark and gritty, but I respected cartoons that respected their audience and weren't just Teletubies and Mickey Mouse kiddy kiddy family friendly. Stuff that dared be serious. Not dark, just serious.

The Pirates of Dark Water

It ended without finishing the story and it was a totally kickass show. It even had a couple of video games.

The show takes place on the world of Mer and it was about a young pirate named Ren who had to collect the 13 Treasures of Rule in order to save the world from a sentient all-consuming black liquid called Dark Water. He had a crew, an ecomancer named Tula, an treasure hungry pirate named Ioz, and Niddler a "monkey-bird". Thier main antagonist was a vicious and power hungry pirate known as Bloth who wanted the treasures in order to control the Dark Water in a bid at world domination.

It had 21 episodes and was cancelled due to low ratings and low merchandise sales.

Speaking of pirates... but also not really, I just wanted an excuse to bring up The Fantastic Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor.

It had an absolutely legendary intro full of mystique:

I gave it a shot, but didn't like how they changed mc in season 2, to a character I didn't like.

Kappa Mikey had a fun concept for a show. An American cartoon character wins a trip to Japan to be part of a show, while there are anime references here and there for each episode. The show's first season aired on the Nickelodeon channel for a short while, then it ended up in the elephant graveyard of cartoons known as the Nicktoons channel where shows go to die after their second season.
