Shows that deserved more seasons but the executives would rather greenlight more teen titans go

The Oblongs only lasted one season and was fantastic and hilarious. Amazing cast with Will Ferrell, Jean Smart and Billy West to name a few.

Mission Hill is a very underrated show that was not given a chance. Brian Posehn as Jim and their neighbors Wally and Gus always stole the show.

Great and absurd high school teen comedy. RIP Patrice O'Neil. Every episode involved some strange and totally random event called "The Weirdness" that completely changes the town and its people for a brief period.

3-South, Del and Sanford are two lovable idiots that attend the worst rated college in the county. Best portrayal of how ridiculous American college life can be in a TV show.

I forgot about that.

But, goddamn did it had great fight scenes (which is what i remember).
Yeah, it was one of the shows I'd be super excited for each Saturday. Both shows got treated bad. Something about not being able to sell toys targetted towards young boys of female characters or something.

Guy already said Oblongs but it for sure got bitched, which I get from a business standpoint but the premise of a dystopian society/dysfunctional protagonist family was super interesting!

It had good slapstick and clever jokes, edgy but not bland, likeable cast and all!

Also, it gave us Creepy Susie!

3rd season of Sonic SatAM. I will defend Power Rangers, but it was a dumb move for ABC executives to cancel the show and replace it with garbage such as Dumb & Dumber, Fudge, few live action shows that no one knows, and Disney's Doug which got a 3rd season instead of Sonic. WTF?

Super Mario Bros. Super Show. I know Mario 3 and Mario World were considered Seasons 2 and 3, and Nintendo is strict with their IPs, but I want to see more adventures with Mario and the gang maybe do a Super Mario Kart Spinoff, Dr. Mario Spinoff or Super Mario Land 1 & 2 Spinoff since those games were around or close to Mario 3 and Mario World.

Poor poor Infinity Train, original premise, very good soundtrack, great acting, a good variety of protagonists, decently graphic deaths when they happened, got cancelled for not having a "child entry point" whatever that means

I don't have one in mind but I would like to see more action /serialized show that are experimental and has 3 seasons at most

I've been eyeing this thread for a little while, I have to give in. I don't really watch much outside of anime these days but I really miss the era of cartoons that felt like they respected the audience. I'm not saying every show needs to be serious, gritty, or dark. But the more we get that treats the people like they are idiots or aren't capable of nuance the worse entertainment feels. And frankly, there's a lot of weird stuff in Anglo-American media nowadays that wouldn't fly here to put it politely.

I was glancing at what's on today since I have to babysit fairly regularly these days. Even my nieces don't really like what's on TV anymore, we've taken to watching everything from that ranges from Batman the Animated Series, Tokyo Mew Mew and Courage the Cowardly Dog. The last thing we watched was Avatar: Legend of Aang, it really made me despair there's very little like that anymore.

My pick for the thread is Batman Beyond.

I am totally with you on the first point. As a kid I didn't need everything to be dark and gritty, but I respected cartoons that respected their audience and weren't just Teletubies and Mickey Mouse kiddy kiddy family friendly. Stuff that dared be serious. Not dark, just serious.

The Pirates of Dark Water

It ended without finishing the story and it was a totally kickass show. It even had a couple of video games.

The show takes place on the world of Mer and it was about a young pirate named Ren who had to collect the 13 Treasures of Rule in order to save the world from a sentient all-consuming black liquid called Dark Water. He had a crew, an ecomancer named Tula, an treasure hungry pirate named Ioz, and Niddler a "monkey-bird". Thier main antagonist was a vicious and power hungry pirate known as Bloth who wanted the treasures in order to control the Dark Water in a bid at world domination.

It had 21 episodes and was cancelled due to low ratings and low merchandise sales.

Speaking of pirates... but also not really, I just wanted an excuse to bring up The Fantastic Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor.

It had an absolutely legendary intro full of mystique:

I gave it a shot, but didn't like how they changed mc in season 2, to a character I didn't like.

Kappa Mikey had a fun concept for a show. An American cartoon character wins a trip to Japan to be part of a show, while there are anime references here and there for each episode. The show's first season aired on the Nickelodeon channel for a short while, then it ended up in the elephant graveyard of cartoons known as the Nicktoons channel where shows go to die after their second season.

Sonic SatAM deserved a third season and was brutally cancelled in favor of Power Rangers. Nothing against Power Rangers, but they could have axed something else instead. View attachment 686
I personally liked Sonic SatAM more than Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

both of these shows was fun and had some what good storie
and they did never got a ending

Billy and Mandy is in a perfect spot for a terrible reboot to squander the originals good name. Used to be one of the big players on CN in its prime. They did it to Powerpuff Girls. I'd want this, or Courage.

Static Shock. Normally I dislike capeshit, but that cartoon had heart, tackled difficult subjects and didn't talk down to kids. It had a very big audience and got lots of awards, but was cancelled because it didn't sell enough merchandise.

And Virgil was stylish as heck

Im puzzled he wasnt in injustice
Was he in any game other than those gba ones?

Its a good thing cn never capitalised on any of its older shows other than ppg so nothing else got a shitty reboot

Both billy and mandy and knd were meant to have sequels but CN said no

The 'Complete' should have an asterisk ...
The series wasn't actually finished ! :'(
Quentin never got to defeat Kortan ... !!
Though from what I remember back then as a kid, I'm not surprised this didn't get past season 2.
I mean the story was actually great in my opinion. I think the problem was this was being aired at like 4:30am (or 5:30am) on weekdays on Fox Kids ? I suppose it was too violent to be shown past 6am or in the afternoons after 3pm. But still it deserves a proper ending. Might Max kinda did ( with the whole loop back to the beginning) since the last episode of Highlander left off as a bit of a cliffhanger.

One of my favorite cartoons, I was really into the Highlander stuff. The English dub was somewhat of a mixed bag if I remember right, and changed some things in the story that are much better in the original French. There was at one time a English sub on the French version that wasn't an adaptation and just translated it so it kept the original story, but I've searched for years and was never able to find a rip of it.

I actually came here with the intention of mentioning Cybersix. Great, great show.

I have a few others I watched and wished had more by the end of it, though.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series is a wonderful show that had such a good Red Lantern representative that I was flabbergasted to find out that Razer actually had no comic precedence. It's a shame, especially, since it seemed like they would have gone into the Yellow Corps for a season three, since season two set up Sinestro (and I also wanted more from my edgy boy).

Glad to see another person who knows about The Green Lantern show. Its the best Green Lantern adaptation on screen we have ever had, and even introduced stuff like the Aya/Razer plotline which was the best. I will never forgive WB or whoever cancelled the show, may they burn in hell.
That's probably super-valid, but I haven't seen so much of that show and Transformers Prime was awesome but probably wouldn't have been made if Animated aired for longer. I, especially, never would have had my love for Smokescreen (He should have become a Prime) and Arcee.

I love Prime, it was in my opinion one of the more mature and best written of any of the Transformers shows. Certainly better than the garbage Bayformers.

I hate it when cartoons get cancelled because the kiddos aren't buying enough pieces of poseable plastic. It's a completely outdated model. 80s and 90s cartoons being twenty minute toy commercials cheapened their value and people still look down on that until this very day even if the show itself is good. The suits only care about money. So even if kids are enjoying the show, if they aren't buying enough toys then it can be considered a failure.

I loved the legion of superheroes animated series. They cut it off after the second season right after the last episode revealed a major plot twist. I still collect the comic books now and then though.

The true tragedy of shows like Infinity Train is that the creator will never have access to it again. Motorcity, Megas XLR, Three Delivery, Making Fiends...yeah they're all fucked. Best they're getting is if about 100 years from now some young person remembers them and makes fan continuations...when the creators of these shows will probably be dead

DAMN YOU DISNEY

Every season has a different protagonist. Tulip to Lake to Grace and Simon and the final season has 2 protagonists that are childhood friends trying to reconnect named Min-Gi and Ryan

Aside from S2 being a direct follow up to S1 with the protagonist, they're all self contained. Reminds me of most JRPGs and how their sequels have different casts or of Jojo. Try Season 3 or Season 4 and remember that they're self contained.

Invader Zim, That show was absolutely BIZARRE and hilarious well, I thought so.

There were unfinished episodes, But the scripts were released, and they’re like secret GOBLIN scrolls, revealing the dark truths of the universe.

I always thought the Irkins were GOBLINS!!!!

Little sneaky GOBLINS with their wicked plans. I broke seven T.V.s trying to slay them, can you believe that? Broke my hand, too! The DIRTY GOBLINS, GOBLINATED! my hand with a TV!

Overall, a fun show

...Goblins...
