Mine died 2 years ago -_- Was a great portable emulator for decades.
That green one :Here goes mine, not all of them, just the ones i modded. These 3 are rescues, they had broken shells or broken screens and were on they way to the trash, but i saved them:
The blue 1000 is my Vice City themed, with an IPS screen.
The clear black one is my 3000 Diablo themed.
The Clear Green is my Tomb Raider themed.
And the street model has the original shell that was broken and scratched, but i was able to glue it and painted it that kinda chocolate color i found, i thought it look good with the black buttons parts. This one has an IPS screen and a glass lens, the original lens was very scratched.
I have 2 more, a white 1000 and a piano black 3000but they are stock, no modding lol.
Edit:
Completely forgot my poor PSP GO. This one had to have a shell swap, but the inner part was poor quality, so i sanded the painted the original middle part that was scratched i thought of giving it a space themed look.
So, I looked around a little since, correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems you have a Go. I was a bit quick to type earlier, as I meant that software mods are well documented, thanks to PSPunk. Hardware mods are less common to find consolidated info on, especially for the Go. Still, if you don’t mind braving the horror that is Reddit, I found several posts showing off what is possible.Thank you!! Yours looks really cute!
I don't want to bother, but would you mind giving me a pointer to these sources? I've been out of the scene since the PSP SceneBeta stopped regularly updating lol
I saw this video the other day re: the SD adapter mod but it looks mad scary, even with soldering experience lmao
Oh Nice! But what if I were to by an already modded one? I'm not confident with fiddling around with tech cuz' I tend to mess things up most of the time.I think it's pretty cheap, I've seen a good bit of them in my country on second hand markets going for around 20-40 bucks. But who knows, maybe people over here undervalue it. I luckily got mine for free from my cousin who never used it, maybe check if a relative has one?![]()
Humm, the only place I've seen pre-modded ones is Etsy, and they charge, frankly, too much. Something like $100 and upwards, I think?Oh Nice! But what if I were to by an already modded one? I'm not confident with fiddling around with tech cuz' I tend to mess things up most of the time.![]()
Just checked out PSPunk! What an amazing resource, I wish such a thing had been available in my PSP-heavy days, would've made everything so much easier lmaoSo, I looked around a little since, correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems you have a Go. Long story short, if you’re looking to modify the storage, then you’ll need to solder to the board. If you’re looking to mod the case, you’re low on options, but there ARE options out there for cases. Many are for putting in larger batteries. Others are for USB-C. The long and short of it is that the modding scene for Go is less about aesthetic upgrades, but rather giving it functionality.
hehe nice taste in gamesMega Man Powered Up!
yes cos i get to see what games you have and consider if i should download them too XDDoes this qualify
please share them on this thread when you mod them!I haven't modded yet, but I ordered three shells.
i wonder if Total Kommando is on this forum cos he's really the freakin guru when it comes to PSP modding. everything i've done is thanks to himTotal Kommando
we might be kindred spirits - i like doing this too, i'm not exactly a hoarder, nor do i know much about electronics but it pains me to think someone would throw a console away if it's fixable.but i saved them
Yeah!! I still use mine for music and anime, I have one of those hard-cases that turn into a desk-stand and will use it to watch old classics. It's a pain converting MP4s for it, but so worth it.it’s as much a multimedia device as it was a game system
He really is, I love how thorough his videos are. There's always some new bit of information in his videos that get me excited to do something new with my PSPi wonder if Total Kommando is on this forum cos he's really the freakin guru when it comes to PSP modding. everything i've done is thanks to him
Nice
Like everyone else said, don't worry about it, modding a PSP took me like 6 minutes tops I think. All you do is just put like 2 files onto your PSP memory, go to games and open them. Then there's really no process, everything is done on it's own afterwards. Pretty easy stuff.Oh Nice! But what if I were to by an already modded one? I'm not confident with fiddling around with tech cuz' I tend to mess things up most of the time.![]()
Man that looks So Cool! Char Custom!
Hehe its not that i am an hoarder too. The thing is i feel sorry to see those consoles going to the trash when they can be rescued, and then i always end up doing something cool with them and i cant give them away or sell them after that lol. This happened with 3 GBAs i fixed and modded too.we might be kindred spirits - i like doing this too, i'm not exactly a hoarder, nor do i know much about electronics but it pains me to think someone would throw a console away if it's fixable.
which one is your main PSP?
