You should watch it, the world building is very in depth, it makes you want to appreciate the deep lore that their world has with the abyss and its layer. Also, the pacing of the anime is good, it kept my attention from start to finish without getting bored.

I would also like to recommend Girls Last Tour, the vibe of the story is pretty similar, I don't know how to explain it but nevertheless I recommend it. Best I can describe it is if MiA is going down, then this one they are going up, and both of the story have similar "optimism in the face of what should be soul crushing despair" vibe.

He didn't get banned from his reply here, I know that much. But if I had to take a guess, it's probably because he got a bit too passionate (as in aggressive) with his discussions elsewhere.

To be completely honest this was probably one the most civilized threads about Made in Abyss I've seen on the internet. Everybody gave their short opinions & that was that, it was actually pretty sweet. Vetusomaru's kind of response was what I expecting from the begining.

It's like saying that using a fire alarm is not necessary even if there's a fire.

While I could understand that feeling they're just drawn characters on paper so it's more about the context especially what Bondrewd has done with the "cartridges".

But I feel that, since this world seems to look like late medieval/Renaissance era inspired I think this is why kids are not treated the best (especially when we have them working since childhood like coal miners).

Do not spoil anything, watch the series, skip to the third film (The first two are recaps) and then the second season.

It is a rare example or a work that is elevated by its sound design, voice acting and music far beyond what the original Manga could achieve with images alone.

It's probably the most unique and creative anime of the last decade. It's wholly its own thing, yes the author is a lolicon but that aspect of the show is dropped by the third episode and it doesn't return.
Even that aspect is far less egregious than many contemporary shows when it comes to depicting its younger characters in questionable situations.
I love you Konosuba but the Megumin prequel is far to horny for characters who are the same age, if not younger than Made in Abyss's cast And that's not even half as bad as other Isekai I don't even want to name.
