Well, it's on in the background, but I'm watching 'Vampire Hookers' from director Cirio H. Santiago. It's a cheesy B exploitation movie from the late '70s. I like generic garbage movies like this, and Santiago made over 100 movies during his career. Most of them are horrible, horrible ripoffs and knockoffs, but I enjoy a good cheesy movie.

oh yeah Ninja Scroll rocks.. I have the VHS still.. even the fake "sequel" (as it was sold here in the US after Ninja Scroll became a hit) called Ninja Resurrection about Jubei Yagyu ( not Jubei Kibigami from Ninja Scroll) and the massacre of Japanese Christians (Shiro Amakusa under the Tokugawa Shogunate) is decent too.. gets messed up, but all the great anime films from that era tend to.. same story as Samurai Showdown 1 actually.. Jubei Yagyu is a playable character and Shiro Amakusa is the final boss... oh yeah, there is also a tv series follow on to Ninja Scroll called Ninja Scroll- Dragon Gem that is pretty cool too..
Down Periscope is funny too... isnt the actress in that the same one in Dumb and Dumber that ended up marrying Jim Carrey?... I could be misremembering

That might have been my first "hey this cartoon isnt for kids...awesome!" anime that I saw as a kid

Yesterday i saw Bruce Almighty with my meal, i always had the headcanon that Bruce died in the initial crash and rather than meeting God he was instead sent to the purgatory, letting him live once he proved he did learn his lesson

Thunderball
1965​

My fourth movie of James Bond's tenure of adaptations, and I can safely say this one was absolutely delightful for me.

This movie kicks back into gear of that degree of suspense, fantastic cinematography and themes that I loved with the first two movies, that being Dr. No and From Russia With Love.

It takes us back to that narrative of thwarting SPECTRE and it's diabolical plans, gives us more sense of their aims and tastefully and gradually pulling back the curtain of their organization with each entry.

There's more layers to Bond here then the comical wunderkind he's portrayed in adventures like Goldfinger, this one balances a serious Bond and fantastic quips as always.

Bond's movies have some incredible opening credit scrawl sequences, but Thunderball might have them all beat so far, this one was wonderful, A screenshot wouldn't do this one justice no sir.
I do wish Bond had a sort of 'assistant' that actively helped him out on the field, Ali Kerim Bey From Russia With Love had a wonderful personality, so someone like him would do brilliantly

I don't know how YouTube decides to suggest films to you, but I guess with the Odyssey being a big talking point a Greco-Roman comedy is kind of what they decided to serve me?

TvTropes has sort of reputation nowadays for being sort of a "media illiterate" site filled with fans of anime and fanfiction, but I think a lot of people forget a lot of the site originally was made by a lot of theater nerds and fans of old sitcoms---tropes used to be named after Radar from M.A.S.H. Miles Glorious is a trope that remains on this site, and though it originated in the play this movie draws from, there's no doubt in my mind it was this film which inspired the Trope. And for good reason, Miles Glorious steals the scenes he's in.

But really fun comedy of errors. Zero Mostel is an actor I want to explore the filmography of, got around to checking out The Producers. And I've never watched it but now mad that he was let go for the film production of Fiddler on the Roof. And the Buster Keaton role in this is sad learning he died right after, and it's due to lung cancer, but man he has a very impressive and unique voice in this that grabs your attention.

One of those movies I love, like The Three Amigos, but then you read about the production and like everyone went through a ton of drama and turmoil and basically hated the direction of it, but from the audience standpoint a really great film.

Any good?

Yes. It is. It has some pacing issues and some of the jokes don't land, but overall it's a very fun movie that is respectful of the IP while also having a little fun with it. It's very different from the first Masters of the Universe movie, this one's a bit closer to the tone and feel of the 80s cartoon. I like both movies though, and there's a little easter egg in this one for people who watched the first movie.

I really hope there's a sequel despite the poor box office numbers as there are post credit scenes clearly setting one up. One post credit scene in particular should get any He-Man fan excited for the next movie.
