We've watched so many gritty movies I needed a change so I picked this one for my choice this week.

Watched "In The Soup" yday. Can recommend, especially if you make art. Seymour Cassel`s performance is wonderful.

watched Kamikaze Girls the past week with some friends and had a blast. very snappy and funny live action film adapting a novel/manga with a lot of the usual quirks you'd expect more from if it were animated.
I've seen that film and quite liked it but I didn't know it was based off a novel lol nice knowing

I've randomly stumbled upon The Wraith (from 1986)

Vehicular-based action movies are some of my absolute favourites.

Today I watched Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance. It was a cool and enjoyable jidai-geki action movie. The first in a series apparently. It definitely has a bit of a grimy feel, but I guess that makes sense. I still recommend it regardless.

I liked seeing the Die Hard Trilogy (but I plan on watching the fourth and fifth soon) after reading the first book.

The second felt a bit too simiar but the third is really good (and funny in several scenes).

This is an excellent gangster movie set in L.A. in the 1970s and 1980s. The lead actor playing Miklo is wooden, but the other actors do a fantastic job throughout the film. However, it can be pretty graphic and depressing if you watch it.

I watched The Surrender tonight on Shudder. It's really good. An old man dies and his wife and daughter participate in a ritual to bring him back to life. The acting is really good and it reminded me of Little Bites in that you can also read it as an allegory. Little Bites for trauma. The Surrender for grief.
