This is a version of Robo-Pit 2 for the PS1 with the music restored back from the Japanese version of the game that had originally come out 6 years prior. I also included screenshots from the unused good ending that was cut from this version of the game.| Thank you to the people of psx.dev for helping out with this! Specifically Naoki and Spicy! Enjoy! Big, big thanks for this. I've been out of the loop a few months and to see an old request actually get looked at is great! I tried to do it myself a few times as I'd seen videos with the music and 'translation' (it's Phoenix so I expect something barely working but legible, I haven't played much of the game to find out)

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you very much for your contribution. My mother bought me the japanese version of the game when I was a child (I'm argentinian), I didn't understand anything but the music was so cool and the mech customization blew my mind! I didn't get past the second area but I farmed each robot until I got them totally naked. As an adult I found the NTSC/PAL version with a proper translation (and a suspiciously low size) but ZERO MUSIC, horrible. Thank you again for restoring the music, gonna give it another try!
Thanks for the nice comment and the lovely story ::biggrin

It sounds like a nice memory! Crazy you got that far not knowing how to read it! Beating a robot with no weapons at all is quite a feat in this game. I hope you enjoy this version and can finally beat it!

Maybe it would be easier to just translate the original Japanese ISO?
Best I could do with my skill level was fix the music in the NTSC version. I saw what it takes to translate a game on PS1 and it involves some absolutely exhausting steps that requires knowing some pretty high level stuff. I would love to still try to figure it out but I am nowhere near there yet.

I cannot imagine it would be easy to do, but would it be possible to break open the original Jap release, and use the original good ending data to restore the cut ending?
Getting the music to work was already weird enough and let me tell you, the file structure of the NTSC/PAL version of the game is a mess, to put it lightly, with the program I used to help me catching thousands of errors in it vs the ZERO in the Japanese version. I will try my best to see if I can restore it but I don't have the know how like these people who make English patches and game fixes do.
Fucking thank you, finally someone had the good sense to do this. The, like, 7 Robo-Pit 2 fans (me included) owe you their lives. Don't give up on the good ending restoration, it would fix everything about the NTSC release
I'll try! I already started to mess with files but, as I said, this is completely new territory for me. I will do my best! The files are a gigantic mess. I wanted to try to restore the movement of the Japanese version too. They weirdly changed how you can move in the air in the version we got, locking you from turning in the air. Why? No clue.

My first true contribution to this site and I couldn't be happier! Thanks ::biggrin

I hope people can finally enjoy this game without the deafening silence that we got in the NTSC/PAL areas!

I also want to work on restoring the cut good ending but that may be way too hard. We will see!

I don't know why, but I get Alteisen vibes from that red mech. Oh well, time for some fighting robot action. Thanks for this.
