Aight, encountered an unsolicited dragon boss that's hard to get close to in time at the end of an area that's difficult to map and has no save points except at the entrance, losing several minutes of progress. I opted to step away for a bit.
I mean if the first one could be whittled down in a few minutes and the second could be reflected to death, I'm sure there's some sensible method to defeat the third if I don't take another breath attack to the face, especially if it doesn't tear into my health bar like the final boss of mines b1. Besides, the story just got good.Congrats. You hit the point where most people rage quit. If you are going in blind and spent most of the time searching for treasures in the catacombs, you'll find that your weapons deal almost zero damage against dragons. So there's another frustration element in this section.

Yes, pretty much! Cultivated stats from an old blade carry over when combining gear as well, so there's little reason to be precious about things. (The rules for what turns into what can be a little arcane, but I wouldn't sweat those details until later, when you have workshops that allow smithing more materials). As a general rule of thumb, I shouldn't hesitate to disassemble anything I can reattach at a work shop at my progression stage, yes? Never settle for stock parts when you can attach your blade to a more sensible handle, eh?
So, in my experience, the weapon's damage type as determined by its blade and current element as determined by its highest elemental affinity are two of the most potentially crippling damage output-reducing things you'll have to deal with, for the most part. These two things are displayed next to the enemy type when you target an enemy with an attack. Other than that, try to keep each weapon's two bars mostly topped up, because for each, the weapon is twice effective at maximum than at 0. Enemy type affinities on equipment are also relevant, of course.I love the chain attack system and the way that the game handles combat generally, but I seriously feel like all of the different things you have to account for really weigh the experience down a bit, especially with this over-the-top UI design.
Yeah I feel like I've got to grips with the systems now, but I can only reassembly weapons at workshops, and there are a bunch of the bosses that don't have a workshop nearby, so unless I read ahead in a guide and know exactly what I'm supposed to be facing, I have to keep bashing my head against the wall of these bosses and hoping I've got a workshop accesssible to change my equipment properly. So, in my experience, the weapon's damage type as determined by its blade and current element as determined by its highest elemental affinity are two of the most potentially crippling damage output-reducing things you'll have to deal with, for the most part. Well, it's a matter of affinities and damage types. Golem is evil type and resistant to edges, and that silver dagger both is predisposed against evil enemies and does pierce type damage.>Golem appears
>Use big sword
>4 damage
>Use bitchy ass smol dagger
>36 damage
yeah okay Mitsuno
I did a little at the very start and feel like I screwed myself over by accidentally destroying my only ranged weapon. Made fighting the first handful of Phantoms a pain I can tell you.Now I'm a little reluctant to dabble in the weapon part fusion system.
If memory serves, most of that dungeon is locked behind a key you won't get for some time, so no worries about saving it for later. At this point, I'm unsure whether I should move on past the boss I just defeated or
fight to see if the rest of the iron maiden is any worse than the phantom in the first room.
Advice that may be useful later. Enchanter spells reduce the affinity of an opposing element. You're not restricted to enchanting yourself. Do what you will with this information.
I wouldn't know, I am fighting Rozencrantz, and I yearn for death.Abandoned Mines B2 is fun.
There's a method to not deal scratch damage. I forgot. You might want to buff your equipment and check your whole list of debuffs, ailment chain abilities, and enchants to see if anything works on him instead of displaying 0%. You might also benefit from toggling on the setting to produce an on-screen popup every time your equipment affinity changes, as that often tells you what elements are effective against the enemy you just hit.I wouldn't know, I am fighting Rozencrantz, and I yearn for death.
yeah I'm gonna turn on the affinity change thing, could come in helpful. There's a method to not deal scratch damage. I forgot.
