Damn, flexin on us... That's a pricy game!View attachment 203891Just getting things ready…
Wasn’t pricey when I bought it used 20 years ago. Now I consider it part of my emergency fund.Damn, flexin on us... That's a pricy game!
Lets go Chibi Robo!!!
Someone has made a few laps around there track, I see.
Amaterasu, origin of all that is good and mother to us all requests your vote for the glorious Okami!!Not taking my own nomination into account; I’d normally go straight for Shinobi PS2, but I already played it again a few months ago, so for me; it’s a toss up between Chibi-Robo, Eternal Ring and Jet Set Radio, which I wouldn’t mind going through again since it’s been awhile…
I should make a poll to decide what my vote goes toward lol
I really hate to admit this, but as much as I love the art direction and general aesthetic of Okami, I really don't like playing that game. I think Kamiya was very ambitious to step out of his comfort zone and try something new, but action-adventure games are really not his forte if I'm being completely honestAmaterasu, origin of all that is good and mother to us all requests your vote for the glorious Okami!!

That stings to hear a bit admittedly, but what parts did you not exactly like about playing the game?I really hate to admit this, but as much as I love the art direction and general aesthetic of Okami, I really don't like playing that game. I could just never really get into it personally. Granted, it has been a while since I last played it, but I think it was a combination of the control scheme feeling very cumbersome to me and the fact that game was so hyped to me by others before I played it, I kind of went in with perhaps some unrealistic expectations. I remember the early game having a lot of downtime and boring segments. That stings to hear a bit admittedly, but what parts did you not exactly like about playing the game?
I love using various tricks in the game, such as R1 which speeds up the inkbrush during drawing segments, or using triangle for a thicker splotch. That means the interruptions during battle feel less apparent and you feel more like a ... well, god. Not to mention when you can set Reflector as sub-weapon you unlock Ammy's really awesome parry.
If Okami does win, I should make a quick post on the game thread so people know these things as they are quite hidden.
Hype can really lead to horrible circumstances, I can only imagine seeing someone witness a rant on RGT about their love for Okami and then get really excited to play it, to witness that prologue scrawlI could just never really get into it personally. Maybe I'll give it another shot though if it wins. I'll edit the poll in my thread and add it as an option.
. Which has never aged well, I still like the prologue but it's a massive patience tester for sure. I wish I could wipe your memory of the game and play it when you knew nothing about it before hand but ... what can I do

See, I was lucky with CT where as soon as I heard about it and saw it, I downloaded a ROM and played it over the summer of '07 or '08 iirc. It was only after I found out it's considered a masterpiece of the SNES and one of the best RPG's of all time. That same circumstances permeates the air of me ever enjoying games like Chrono Trigger too as well to be honest, The amount of coverage too I've seen over the years of people shoving it in my face makes my first time play feel like a 'replay'![]()
but it is a very enjoyable game to me still.
