i literally just choose the heaviest car lol cuz i believe it would be good for crashing my opponent.

lighter cars are more sensitive to control so you will swerve more or have to be more careful when drifting but their top speeds are higher, i think

I think you're right, best to go heavy

I haven't watched this anime in forever, but this game made me dig through my screenshots (this character was an announcer or something right?), and this is now how I imagine stryker >_<

Just cleared another Championship in B1, Euro Marathon. Ebay says my order should be getting here either tomorrow or tuesday...

This first game is pretty fun, but I can tell it's not as polished. Also, music keeps getting mentioned in the thread, but the music for this one is about as generic as you can get.

Still having some fun with it, just unlocked 'Survival' mode, gonna try that out!

Really enjoying it so far. Definitely a couple of complaints and a few expectations shattered, but its really fun. Also, I get what everyone is saying about the sound track. Some of the lead singers got me thinking about this video. There are a couple good songs though.

Anyway I'll be playing the OG Xbox version like I said before, however if you guys somehow manage to get the online working I'll gladly install PCSX2 to join in.

After i complete the game, Id gladly see if I can run this on my laptop and try to get online. But that's a big IF i can run it. I would love to play online though, especially since it keeps pushing it between loading screens.

Ebay seller dropped the ball, guess I'm playing the 2nd game for now.. Guy must not know his numbers.

This game looks a LOT better than the first one. Performance is still sold, yet theres better visual clarity, so dodging other cars and stuff is much easier than the first. The crashes themselves are so much more epic too, and boosting is easier to build. All around an improvement from the first right away. Really like the dynamic soundtrack getting more intense when you boost too.

It's easy to transfer driving skills between these first two games, the driving feels quite similar. My first race in I cleared it with 0 crashes.

The highlight so far is the Crash mode, something that the first game didn't have. (as far as i saw in my time with it) It's so fun to try and raise that score, and takes a decent amount of brains to get a gold medal. This is already a much better game!

I've been neglecting this game because I got Armored Core Last Raven and tried to play that, got my teeth kicked in and then went to go and get the secret ending in AC6 so I've been busy doing that. Might get a few more races in soon though, I have some boring meetings coming up where I don't need to be paying full attention. Exciting!

Huh, that's interesting. I don't know anything about the burnout series besides this one, and I played this one originally on xbox not ps2, but pcsx2 just makes everything easier. I like the crash events too ^_^

Well, i finally got to play it, doing the trials, tryig to get the Gold medals is a chore anyway, so i will simply do them all for fun and simply enjoy the chaos and 2000's nostalgic teen music

Ironically, the races proper are harder than expected, it's me or slipping even in a bug sends you flying? having a good time despite it all

Last night I had the chance to try out some of the multiplayer Crash mode on Burnout 2. It's super fun to pass the controller back and forth and compete to see who can make the biggest mess.

There was a preview lap with a gold time of 3:50… having to reset felt punishing if you made it far into the race.

Late to the game. Been playing Hyrule Warriors for the last couple weeks (Second Favorite LoZ game) and forgot all about the contest.

I never played Burnout when it came out. I want to say if it was racing or car related me and my friends were playing Vigilante 8 Second Offense or one of the Need for Speed games.

Just finished the very first race and realized how much I've been sleeping on this. It was so much fun and intense.

Yea, I'm pretty blitzed right now and about to get back at it Are the far east ones harder? Haven't tried them just because still other events on other continents to do. And damn, gold on ~4min race is an achievement! This game can be brutal for some events with the traffic rng: longer races I lay down a savestate when doing well, so I don't have to completely restart.

Yea, I'm enjoying this one a lot more than I thought. I remember liking it as a kid but I don't think I got far, and I'm not the biggest racing fan: takes a lot of focus and my attention has only gotten worse as I got older >_< That's why I like the crash events so much ^_^

So I' m out of commission as I don't have a computer that can run PS2 games.
I mentioned the fact that crashing seemed kind of rewarded in this thing to Marisa.
She's like "when do we play when do we play wanna see wanna see". OF COURSE SHE'S INTO WANTON AUTOMOBILE DESTRUCTION.
