Nah when i played it the game wasn't that difficult, thanks for the mechanics i don't really gets pressured on the race

Like i literally crash somone got boost, crash another person and when i reach 1st place every time i almost got hit just brake then strike that person. Man i love this takedowns mechanics.

My only problem was time attack.

Just started playing, I feel out of place already after looking at the EA TRAXX selection this game has

Yeah I was flipping through the radio for the first few races I was doing and just didn't find anything good. Eventually I gave up, turned off the music and put on Cage. It works. I didn't listen to any of this "beach rock" type music when I was younger nor' today so it kind of lacks the familiarity to make up for the absence of texture it has.

That's also what I have been doing the best at I really suck at the time trials or single races? I couldn't get better than bronze in that first race with the super car >_< Why is one of the first races so hard?

My initial thoughts upon trying it is: this game isn't for me. It's a serviceable arcade racer but I don't tend to chase scores or times. I'll keep playing but not very seriously.

Is there a strategy in car selection? Anyone know what weight does? I just pick what car is the cutest ^_^ For any muscle races (how far I am currently) with a choice I use this one, for example.

i literally just choose the heaviest car lol cuz i believe it would be good for crashing my opponent.

lighter cars are more sensitive to control so you will swerve more or have to be more careful when drifting but their top speeds are higher, i think

Kind of where I'm at. I really enjoyed playing Crash Mode on Burnout 2 with my brothers back when it came out, but I'm not really a racing guy. I tried this one, but it was getting on my nerves in a way that I've learned means "I need to put this one down." I hope y'all enjoy yourselves, but I'm going to need to sit this one out.

Damn! This was the first crash that took me numerous tries for gold. I like how they can be a challenging puzzle ^_^

This fucking "Preview Lap 1" is doing me in. About 40 restarts so far. That turnoff into oncoming traffic after the alley is ridiculous with the RNG traffic spawns.

EDIT: FINALLY. I was really channelling my inner AVGN with the impotent cursing on the last 20-25 attempts.

I managed to get started today after installing the ROM into emudeck.

Had a blast but mostly played the crashes, although I did get a gold in the 1 race I did.

Seems like the crash events can be cleared suuuuper quickly tho.

It's been a few days, nabbed few new unlocked cars, and smacked into enough things. I've completely shut off the soundtrack as that genre of music isn't my cup of tea at all. I don't know if I'll stick with the game as religiously as I did Minish Cap or Ico...or for me if it will fall to the wayside as "I get why people like it, but its not for me."

It's WAY too early to tell, but it might be something to dabble in if I'm playing other games and get burned out of the grind in them.

Yeah, they're definitely the smallest event type for sure. I kind of wish they did combined ones for some honestly, like needing to crash multiple cars or progress through a few setups for a total cash amount rather than being one and done for each.

Yea it probably would have helped the "bloat" too. I feel like the one issue I have always had with this game is that 100%ing career mode just feels so tedious after a while. If they were able to consolidate a few of the Crash challenges together and maybe just have alternate objectives or even just have 1 more event type that felt unique it would have been perfect. As it stands while I have put ungodly hours into this game over the years if I ever start a new save file I always feel a bit burned out about 50% of the way through the game.

Nice work! That one is kicking my ass and it especially pisses me off it is one of the first races So far silver is best I can do on that one Makes me feel better to know it is legit a hard one ^_^

But in all seriousness, Happy Fourth if any of you celebrate it and thank you RGT for supplying the rom. Honestly cant wait to play, I only ever played Paradise. Just booted it up but, I'm about to play for while

Genuinely took me like 10-11 tries for the first preview lap. I don't know if anyone else has this video game curse but i swear I this always happens to me(probably a mental thing). My first attempt is my best. Then i struggle on all attempts until I finally beat it. This happens a lot with souls bosses
