RGT Nostalgia Society #13 - The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Played a lot of Minish Cap back in the day on my old GBA SP. I think I did all kinstones but never got all the figurines
Same. I didn't have too many GBA games back in the day so i often played the stuff i had over and over. This was one of those games. I used to know it like the back of my hand but my memory is getting rusty ngl ::sadkirby

Still one of the best looking games on the system

But I'm still tired from all the Pikmin effort  Alright time to get going I guess 🥱

2 dungeons down so far. I remember why I enjoyed this game the first time I played way back when. It's very quick and to the point, not wasting a lot of time to get you into the action. The game looks and sounds incredible as well, easily one of the best looking games for the GBA.
I love this fella as well

I love how it's technically a regular Chu-Chu, but because you're shrunken down in this dungeon, it's treated as a genuine threat lol. Looking forward to continuing this replay.

Finally beat the first boss ngl i feel like i achieved it faster than before.

Idk why my younger self struggle to completed the dungeon.

Also fun stories i forgot to get the heart piece after the boss fight lol

Even though this is my least favorite Zelda game, I think it's still pretty good, and I'd be remiss to not participate in the RGTNS first Zelda title. I'm too big of a fan of the series not to.

Time to go charge my GBA SP.

Damn WE HAVE GAMBLING BOYSS.

Well i don't really gamble my shell tho since i always make sure the drop is 100%

Tbh idk if this was a wise choice but if there's one thing i learned from playing pokemon. "If it wasn't 100% it will miss"

(I know the original quote was 50% but my personal experience made me see that thunder can miss 4 times in a row)

I love how obvious he is lol

After Vaati wrecked up the place and beat up the royal guards, the royal court must’ve realized it was a bad idea to give the most lethal person in town access to their most prized possession. But I guess hindsight is 20-20.

Thinking about if I should try to mater it on RetroArchievements or not.

Got the cheevo for no damage 1st boss after my third try. Isn't that complicated but I'm still getting used to Link's hitbox and hurtboxes

Just as I remember, it's not that hard of a game but the sheer grind for the figurines and the 3-Hearts-only challenge its already making me secound guess

There's a 20 hearts and a 3 hearts achievement😑.
here we go again GIF

I'm maybe 4 hrs or so into the game, and I got 12 cheevos from RA so far. I don't think I'll grind out the cheevos to 100% but I'll aim to get a good handful!

These kinds of contradictory archievements really bother me. The 3 hearts cheevo would fit better in a challenge run or speed run since the game itself does not acknowledge you finishing it with only 3 hearts (no item, no cutscene, no extra content).

I guess it at least make sense since there is one archievement that would require a 2nd run, the goddess chram one. In a playthrough you can only get 2 out of 3 charms but there are an archiviement tied to each so it would be impossible to get all 3 in one go, making a 2nd run obligatory to master.

Still, replaying the entire game just for 2 archievement seems like a hassle.

Mutiple runs for game with mutiple endings or new game+? Awesome.
Multiple runs for games that you can 100% in one run? Not so much.

Agree, I'm playing Breath of Fire 2 and that one has plenty of "make a choice" achievements but, nothing this demanding, all doable in a single playthrough with some clever save and loading shenanigans.

Next month we can do Chibi Robo, just to keep the streak going after Pikmin. Micro Machines for August?

you joke but fucking love me some Micro Machines.

I'd be SO down for that, I love Micro Machines! I grew up with the N64 version and it had such a dope soundtrack
