June madness is almost here and that means it's time we decide what we play this month in the RGT Nostalgia Society!!!!

Animated GIF

If you're not familiar with us, the RGT Nostalgia Society (or RGTNS for short) is a monthly play-together group. Each month we nominate and then vote for a game, and we all try our best to play through the entire thing together before the month ends.

As always, there is only one rule:

All nominations must include a link to a game on The Repo. NO EXCEPTIONS!! (for real tho, I've been letting this slide a bit, but it's like literally our only rule)

Get those nominations in people!!!

If you're curious about the society, check out our previous threads:

This month to celebrate Dragon Quest's 40th Anniversary I present to the Society:

トルネコの大冒険 不思議のダンジョン
Torneko's Adventure - Mystery Dungeon

If you've ever played Shiren the Wanderer, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, one of the Chocobo Mysterious spinoffs, Etrian Odyssey or any Japanese RPG Rogue-like then you owe thanks to this fella and this game because he started it all over there.
(Well probably technically Rogue still started it but a terminal based ASCII game wouldn't have exploded the popularity of the genre like a home console game from a beloved property did.)

It's been a couple of months since the last RPG and this one's definitely marching to the beat of a different drum when it comes to that genre. Could be fun and could introduce some new people to the Mystery Dungeon! Also very phone emulator friendly in terms of controls since the game only moves when you do, and that might be important to some people.

As much as I'd love to get a Pikmin double bill and nominate the second game, I'll hold off for now and instead nominate this instead:
(Strider 2 is what I'm nominating specifically, the original Strider is on the second disc)

One of the classics from the GBA
Oh! I would vote for that one! I never played it and could then claim to have beaten all the GB zelda games ::flexing Kind of makes me want to nominate seasons/ages >_> But that would just be for pure nostalgia >_<

couldn't enjoy this month's session but I won't give up with CS yet

There are so many "timeless classics" that I still need to play...

Super Mario Bros. 3
Chrono Trigger
Super Metroid

The list goes on. But for the first game of RGT Nostalgia Society Season 2 (as I'm calling it), I'ma pick a game I actually have nostalgia for:

Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters

Can we nominate Solatorobo?

I Didn't join the pikmin just because my fucking device are screaming when i tried to play it '>'

Wild idea: make the it a double feature.

The Zelda Oracle series is a duology with separate games with different plots but both games can be linked for the true ending.

After you finish one of the games, you will recive an password that can be used on the other version to unlock the Linked Game feature when selecting a New Game. A Linked file will have special events and access to the true ending.

You could choose one of the games, finish it and post your password on the thread so others can use to unlock the Linked Game feature on their version. In the same way, you could use somones else password to use it on your version.

I think the only drawback would be finishing the game 2 times, one for the password and one for the Linked Game's true ending

Wow, nominations are wild this month, no matter who wins, June is gonna be fire::megadancebaby
That said, my nomination is the sequel to the game that started it all here
https://retrogametalk.com/repo/psx-iso/parasite-eve-2-usa/
I wish I joined the forums way earlier ::sailor-embarrassed because Parasite Eve is quite possibly my new favourite game on the system after going through it a month back. It made me REALLY want to watch the film and read the book! I even went far enough to grind for the legendary Junk guns ::kefka-48

I've heard things about PE2, and it's why I haven't dabbled into it yet despite adoring the first game so.

But going through it with you all would be a sure of a great motivator to dust open that book once and for all ...
