After years of being on the fence, I've decided to open a retro gaming forum. I think it could be a fun place to discover and discuss retro games. The forum has some cool features, like the ability to submit news, articles, and reviews of your favorite retro games.

To submit articles please apply first to the Writers Guild by sending a snipped of your Article/Review.

If you create ROM hacks or fan translations, feel free to announce them in the Fan-Made Projects & Releases area.

You can also visit the Retro Gaming Media Other Interests section to share images/sprites, music and soundtracks, videos, streams, and magazines.

A section of the site will also serve as the main forum for the Repo, so please keep all ex-CDR related discussions under that category.

I hope you have a great time here and make this forum your new home on the internet!

I've reorganized things a bit. We haven't yet hit our final form yet :p
The main change is that "Retro Gaming Media" section has been eliminated but no the forums inside of it, instead they moved to other interests, General, and Retro Game talk.

Why? Because i don't see why we should limit
Videos & Streams
Art & Design
Music & Soundtracks

to be only about retro. We have a bunch of retro sections! Now you can discuss those topics without any restrictions, they don't have to be inherent to retro gaming.

Just made unread topics orange cos just being bold wasn't enough of a difference for my brain.

Enabled ability to create polls on various subforums.
It should have been enabled since the beginning.

I was doing my usual monthly check of amateur translations and I had reached the point of typing 'CDRomance' into DuckDuckGo, but I didn't find anything and I got scared! Then I followed the 'breadcrumbs' and finally here I am.

duckduckgo uses bing index.
And bing is bullshit.
It randomly deindexes the site only to replace it with fake copies.
And when I email them they are like "yeah your site didn't meet the standards of Bing"
And when I show them all the malicious sites they show in my place they have nothing more to say.

Valid and efficient alternatives to DuckDuckGo and Google?

It sucks that CDRomance as an actual site is no more but considering what happened to Vimm's Lair, it's probably for the best all ROMs are stored here. I'm only here for the games as I'm very unfamiliar with forums at all.

What stops the same thing from happening here?

In the case of a real emergency, it would be enough to make changes to the site, since the forum section, translations, and hacks do not constitute a crime, therefore, there is no problem distributing them individually without the attached games.

As for the actual games, they could be transferred to a place where the legislation allows uploading these games without any issue (especially since the site does not sell anything to anyone, but gives everything away for free) [for example, look at China with Aliexpress, where they have even gone beyond the ethical code, since they even sell all this stuff].

This wasn't intended to go this far xd
If you have anything to discuss create a thread on the proper section thanks!
