i cant figure out how to post onto my profile and I'm sure this belongs here
but most of my collection of old consoles so far (minus WiiU and PS3, which i also have(also minus ps4, switch, xbox one. are they retro yet? maybe i should mod them too).
i have modded/soft-modded (still need to wait for an SD card adaptor to mod my vita) all of them or have a custom flash-cart, can download and play whatever game i want and play it on the native console :>

a lot of people have said that i could just emulate them, and yea they are right
hell i don't even need a GameCube i can just emulate the games on my Wii, but i just love having the original console and to me i just prefer having the games i want to play downloaded to the console ready to play rather than hanging around somewhere on my computer.

i do also have original controllers for all of them but, and i can see the irony myself, i have BlueRetro adaptors for most of them so i can just use a PS5 controller (except on the Wii). call me crazy but i hate the N64's controller sm even tho it is iconic and nostalgic.

thoughts?

Awesome collection! Also, you can't make profile posts until level 1. And I agree with you on the whole physical original hardware part, however emulation is very important as these old consoles are becoming more and more expensive as they're finite.

totally agree! would never say don't emulate games on pc or mobile especially if u cant afford it or don't want the clutter. repackaged old games and games in general are just too expensive at this point.
i gotta use roms on my consoles too tho so we're all on the same side <3

Badass collection you got there and yeah I too is still baffled why and how Nintendo came up with such an oddity that is the N64 controller.
whoever designed this is my opp, it has only one practical use and that is starfox 64.

Cool videogame collection! It reminds me of my own.

As much as I defend the N64 controller (to the possible extent), you are objectively right about Star Fox 64 being the single hard requirement for this controller.

Need to be level 1 at least (message count should be 25, takes a moment to trigger)

Maybe Miyamoto just really liked forks? 😁

Legend has it that as a child Miyamoto-san used to explore caves and forests armed only with a fork.
And that's how he came up with the idea for The Legend Of Zelda.

(Link could have been equipped with a fork, please don't forget that)

I would like to have some consoles as ornaments but the prices are already too high for what I'm willing to pay and a few years ago I was forced to sell my N64 along with almost all its games and I don't want to buy original hardware again only to have to sell it later, I prefer to emulate.

In my opinion if the N64 controller has flaws is number one its stick mechanism and that its button configuration makes that certain games can not be played well with other schemes, my hands got so used to the location of certain buttons that when I play in emulator my fingers are still looking for buttons where there are none.
Other than that I liked the control quite a bit and it never felt complicated to use.

Emulation will never replace the original thing for me. It's simply not the same, no rats nest of adapters or composition of filters will ever capture the joy of using the real thing.

And this child? Grew up to be Albert Einstein. Jerry Seinfeld.
