.I've been planning to buy my first retro console for a while now, and you're my first collection.I've been planning for a while to add it to my collection; any suggestions for something inexpensive and a cheap game?

A Famiclone, maybe?

MegaDrives aren't all that expensive, either — and the third one was manufactured in Brazil under Majesco.

This is in the wrong section, by the way.

Um Famiclone, talvez?

Os Mega Drives também não são tão caros assim — e o terceiro foi fabricado no Brasil pela Majesco.

Aliás, isto está na seção errada.
Sorry, I got confused. Sometimes I get confused with topic sessions.

You will get a lot out of a Nintendo Wii that has been jailbroken. Might be able to get one for very cheap too.

Dreamcast is my pick, if you can get your hands on either a modded unit or a serial numbered 0 or 1, You can play anything from the library plus you get to use cool, accessories like the Maracas or Fishing Controller.

O Dreamcast é a minha escolha. Se você conseguir encontrar um console modificado ou um com número de série 0 ou 1, poderá jogar qualquer jogo da biblioteca e ainda usar acessórios legais como as maracas ou o controle de pesca.
I just found this version at this price.

Would concur with the PS2 suggestion. I got a used one with a pile of games on Ebay for $40 a few months ago and that wasn't even the cheapest deal. Not to mention ease of soft modding, being able to create and play backups, lots of great games not carrying huge price tags, etc.

Dreamcast is also good but you tilt more to the "have to hard mod" side given age not being as kind to the disc readers.

Another vote here for PS2.
Astonashing library and majority of their catalog are cheap (except terror and shmups games)
Cheap console to pick up.
Easy to play with backups.
Compatibility with PS1.
Tons of custom parts and spare parts.

And if you want a portable system?
PSP!!!!
With the same things that above:

I believe the PSX is also dirt cheap and common, especially if you find it already chipped, that way, even if you can't afford a PS2 or a Dreamcast, you will still have some Retro stuff

Definitely depends on what you are after
For me personally due to Nostalgia i would go with a Wii and have that soft modded, can run tons of emulators and even some N64 games, so it would cover a good bunch of generations.
