It's a high-res upscale mod for the old, Chinese market only (SourceNext versions) PC versions of 2 and 3. Makes the textures look very nice and gives them proper support for modern resolutions. Highly recommend them.
I gotta try it out sometime, i bet its better than the ps1 versions

RE1 my favorite. RE2 got a little out of hand with difficulty, imo. Those are only ones I played.

Why would I NOT want the shotgun? wtf? Why even ask me?

That reminds me, right after New Years I played through the original RE2 for the first time since the 90's.

It could be better, but I didn't want to use a guide and some of this shit was hard to remember.
I find it crazy how 4 hours was a long time for a game, nice work though

Ill try it out, also off topic but how do i get a cool name like yours?
Samatonic answered it perfectly, just keep posting basically. (Although I kinda cheated, mods just get access to everything.)

Also is there a way to keep this alive or do i have to rely on other people finding it?

(this is my first time using a forum so my apologies if i dont understand how it works lol)

You're fine, I guess they are kinda old-fashioned at this point!

Generally, people just have to find the thread and have something they want to say. You can respond to people that post here and keep the conversation going, but don't be discouraged if a bit of time passes without a bump.

Thank you, hopefully this stays active.

Has there ever been a bad looking Jill? Even when she was blonde for no particular reason in 5 (spoilers I guess?), and when everyone else had kind of a jacked up face in that game, she still looked good.
I dont get why everyone is going crazy over her lol, it could just be my preference in women though.

Spoilers are fine btw

I love the RE series, I think it's extremely solid throughout. It's impossible for me to pick a single title, but:
  • Best overall: RE4
  • Best "classic" style: REmake
  • Best "modern" style: RE2make
  • Most overlooked: The Mercenaries 3D
  • Needs to come back: Outbreak
  • Most over-hated: Gaiden
  • Worst: Umbrella Corps

RE isn't really my thing, but I always felt the first had the best atmosphere. I only played most of them in passing, though (and even so only up to RE4 very briefly) as I don't have patience for survival horror.

I still miss Operation Racoon City. The game was busted, but that's what made it so entertaining. It was a really cool idea that they just didn't execute well but there's so many goofy things in it that were memorable. How bullet spongy the bosses were, the whole 'what it' aspect of it where you could shoot Leon in the face or...team up with him? The infinite shoulder check combo you could do in the multiplayer. Last time I checked about a year or so ago the Steam version was still unplayable due to the 'Games for Windows Live Service' issue that a whole bunch of older Capcom games had. Sad.

RE3 original was probably my fave, I beat it about 13 times on my old PS1 (still got my save on a memory card somewhere). Played REbirth version as well, damn good. The remake was sadly short-changed compared with 2 & 4, but I still like it regardless.

I'll second ORC as a cool game I had tons of fun with. Delta Team's handler was especially memorable IMO. Still gives me chills listening to him bark out orders.

Also a fan of Code Veronica. Seriously flawed, but I still like it a lot, and it's a shame it doesn't look like it'll be getting a remake.

It's really a shame that it was so clearly outsourced and B-team'd, but there was some good things about it too like you said. Love the hospital section with Carlos, and when you finally blow Nemesis up with the rail gun.

You never know, there was the little stinger at the end of RE2make that was kind of pointing at CV, but then the end of 4make is really pointing towards a remake of 5 apparently which is a little silly to me, the game is perfectly playable still.

I swear I always mixed up seeing both you @Codexion @RageBurner on the same thread.

Anyway I grew up with 2 so that's my fav, 1 is okay but I love the one on DS for some reason, it has janky multiplayer if I remember correctly. I like the Umbrella Chronicles on Wii too.
3 is a step up from 2 but I still prefer 2 for some reason.
4 is okay.
5 and 6 is fun with friends.
7 is a good shake up from the usual RE gameplay, I still believe it would sell better without RE title.
8 is same with 7, I admit I only play it to listen to the Japan dub.

No love for The Darkside Chronicles? I thought it was actually pretty neat for a Wii "lightgun-shooter". Absolutely love how cinematic it is: you can tell Cavia put a lot of effort into the presentation. And it's way more fun than Umbrella Chronicles ever got.

CV is interesting in some ways, frustrating in others, and just plain cuckoo-bananas for the rest. That's an 8/10 for me.

I'm still holding out hope for a remake, though. Claire is my favorite character of the series, some of CV's environments would look amazing in HD, and it'd be sooo fun to know Capcom has had to wring their hands nervously about the whole Alfred/Alexandra red-herring-crossdressing-switcheroo. They'd probably remove it and I get it, but keeping it in and being more creative/less surface-level about it would help the rest of the plot stand up.

Also I'm praying to every deity that has ever been worshipped that if CV:R happens, we'll still have Wesker's kitty-cat eyes.

Oh this too, definitely. Although I play Darkside Chronicles on PS3 instead of Wii. I like how it explored the main story through supporting characters perspective.

I still can't wrap my head around Claire announcing "There never WAS an Alexia after all!". Claire ... you just watched a home movie featuring both of the Ashford Twins on-screen ... together!

I'd be fine with them keeping the Alfred Psycho twist, as long as they hired a better voice actor for the role. Or better yet, add in a twist that Alexia is actually mind-controlling him from her capsule using her freaky T-Veronica powers. Less cringe, less offensive, and it makes Alexia seem more powerful and threatening.
