Remakes\Enhanced Ports you'd actually want

silent hill 2 remake by bloober team was solid so i'd be interested in what they would do with remaking rule of rose albeit that's a fifty fifty on if it be good or a disaster lol

Shin. Megami. Tensei. 1. I can only imagine a game on par with the fidelity of SMT V could look on top of all the improvements the newer games have made for the dungeon crawling and overall gameplay. Hell Everything up to Devil Summoner for that matter!

Kind of out there, but I'd love to see a slightly more modern remake of Interstate '76. But I'd really love the weird graphics and aesthetic to somehow remain intact

want: Star Ocean: The Second Story R on Nintendo Switch
which I received as a gift on my Birthday

Oni
It has some cool Ghost In The Shell-inspired art direction and a similar cyberpunk story, but the gameplay is from that era where the industry was still going through growing pains. The result was a time when developers were both still somewhat inexperienced and too experimental for their own good, and Oni was one of those casualties.

Red Ninja: End of Honor
Another similarly-experimental title from the same era. Nice art, cool character design, but the gameplay is tedious to deal with, especially with a camera that exists to get you killed.

Remaking both and ironing out the kinks, while retaining the art direction and story elements, would be a great way to salvage the lost potential of these titles.

A "Proper" Final Fantasy 1 remake, one that retains the beats of the OG, but updated to be more in line with the rest of the saga (Ability to multitarget spells, Dia replaced with a proper holy line, a row system instead of the clumsy "Put your beefier character in top", magic resistant spells conflated into a single magic resistant buff and what not)

I agree but I hope as long as it doesn't become a streamlined button masher.

Maybe adding more combos and a better platforming as well as a better gunplay (closer to Max Payne) could help?

I've been playing Final Fantasy V lately (for four job fiesta yay) and the game is so fantastic. It really makes me long for that kind of system in a modern game. I wonder how they might expand on it if they remade it in a way that was respectful to the original, keeping all the plot elements and so on, but just added MORE of what makes it so fun and replayable. I would love an even longer version of the game, with more items to find, more dungeons and bosses, places to explore and so on. But most importantly, I would love to see more jobs because FFV has such cool ideas and outfits. I would love to see something silly especially that would really shake things up.

Bravely Default has a job system but the game is now a bit old.
