Its ok
The story is pretty hit or miss, with pretty good character writing and performances for the heroes but all of the villains lack the charm they once had. Also who ever hired the new Ada VA needs to be fired, along with the VA herself. Gameplay is pretty solid, but the staggers aren't as consistent as they were in the original, and less than half of the guns have laser sights. The treasure system is overhauled and really engaging, but the merchant has super lame MMO style quests now.

The definition of a mixed bag imo

Oh wow not the answer I was expecting. I kept reading nothing but praise for it on release. I really enjoyed the RE2 Remake and then heard the 3rd was ass so I didn't invest the time. Maybe I'll do the same here. The OG is still there so I might just boot up PS2 FreeMcboot and do that instead. I haven't beaten it in a long time.

There was a level inside the Asylum that really freaked me out, too, with those screaming lunatics chasing you nonstop!
