I agree that bootlegs have an unfair bad reputation, several bootlegs turn out to be decent and some bootlegs turn even better than official games, Super Sonik II on GBC has no right to be so decent, still imo for most cases 9999 games is still more value than one game.Except the point they were trying to make is that this is better than having a 9999 in 1 LCD console, which usually has Tetris, a racer, a shooter repeated, with no cartridge slot and no real graphics.
But I would still agree if they meant a bootleg 9999 in 1 cartridge. This is something unique that a developer has worked on and you cannot get it anywhere else. Bootlegs are rarely bootlegged.
I have a copy of Sonic 3 Fighter Sonic and I wish I could get this and Super Mario DX, despite them being the same exact game just with different graphics. Bootlegs are fascinating because they are usually from companies with almost no resources to make anything good and despite that, sometimes they do manage to make something unique.
The Lion King bootleg game is clearly better than the GameBoy-to-NES offering we officially got and both versions of the Aladdin bootleg (one based on SNES, one on MD) are better than the similar to Lion King offering. Journey to the West on Famiclone is pretty decent, too!
I see the value of having a 9999 in 1 as a child with no income, but in the end, I still think I would've rather had this than a bootleg with most of the GBAs library. Choice paralysis is a thing, after all and I'd rather have a memory of a weird game that ended up being "no real", anyway.
EDIT: I made my post while the original person talking about the 9999 in 1 cart replied, subject me to public hanging, I guess.
Oh yeah I know what you are talking about, sorry I misunderstood, yeah I miss those 9999 in 1 Tetris toys, they had some fun mini games of which I can no longer play, but I agree, in that case this is better than those, I grew up in west Asia so our culture is similar enough to yours.I wasn't talking about the "9999 in 1" cartridge.
My point is, if someone has had this bootleg cart, it means that he or she was a lucky GBA owner in their childhood. Even the regular Game Boy was a pretty expansive toy in the post-soviet regions in the 90s. Most of us have had dirty cheap handhelds called "Tetris 9999 in 1" (simply "Тетрис") or "Brick Game" from China here. You can google it if you don't know what I'm talking about. Pretty scary thing.
Sorry man. Wasn't intentional. I swear.EDIT: I made my post while the original person talking about the 9999 in 1 cart replied, subject me to public hanging, I guess.

Следовательно человеку повезло и у него был GBA в детстве, а не Тетрис 9999 в 1 за 10 гривен из подземного перехода, купленного на лотке с носками и утренними газетами.

Это полный пиздец
