Well... unfortunately, that’s not Triple H’s decision.
According to reports, Pat McAfee was pushed into it by TKO, specifically by Ari Emanuel, the CEO of TKO and Endeavor. It’s all about WWE’s partnership with ESPN.
I remember that when they announced the takeover of WWE and the creation of TKO, they said TKO wouldn’t interfere with the programmes...
And apparently this isn’t the first time this has happened, as Travis Scott and The Rock were supposedly forced into Cena’s storyline by TKO (where The Rock is a member of the board of directors).

Triple H is taking the blame for all of this, but the problem is that he has nothing to say in these matters, just as he has nothing to say on ticket prices.

Apparently, a lot of people backstage are unhappy about this, with Cody leading the way, which is why Cody’s promo on SmackDown is said to be partly shoot.

Ayeeee so from what i hear because the segment with pat mcafee was so bad theyre thinking of bringing someone else in who is meant to be the real person on the phone to randy orton if they do this it will be predictable but damage limitation. pat could get away with just being some kind of hype man for randy orton i thought the message was good but it was just the wrong guy delivering the promo. i struggle to take pat seriously in any capacity when it comes to wwe.

i didn't watch a lot of wrestling (never had satelite tv) but i used to love Legends Of Wrestlemania on ps3 and WWF Attitude on ps1 - i always tried to see how much blood i could cover my opponent in. i would have liked to have seen the late 80's / early 90's years as i remember hearing so many kids chat about "mr perfect ", "ultimate warrior" ( my fav ) sid vicious/justice (another fav) and "legion of doom" all the time. even though its often slagged off for being called a "sport" - i admire the mindblowing moves a lot of those wrestlers can pull off.

yeah theres no doubt the early 90s was the golden era for a reason so many big names and entertainment for the fans. Ive got legends of wrestlemania must boot it up see what i think of it again.

Night 1.
Unsanctioned match: Fatu wins.
Six-Man Tag: Usos and LA Knight win after The Vision leaves IShowSpeed to the wolves.
Women's tag match: It's a long shot, but I think Bayley & Lyra Valkyria might surprise us.
Women's Intercontinental: Becky goes over.
Rollins vs. Gunther: Are they really gonna have Gunther lose three years in a row? I'm picking Gunther.
Women's World Championship: Liv Morgan wins.
WWE Championship Match: Orton wins with the punt kick.

Night 2.
Oba vs. Brock: Oba emerges victorious.
Ladder match: Penta probably retains.
US Title: Trick Williams.
Finn vs. Dom: Finn for the win.
WWE Women's Championship: Jade retains.
World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns wins, maybe the Bloodline reforms.

I think I played it pretty safe, but I hope I'm proven wrong. It's always nice to be surprised on these big shows. I definitely think Danhausen will play some kind of role with John Cena, someone's getting cursed. I'd also like to be surprised in the ladder match by a JD McDonagh upset, he's a dark horse here.

Someone will appear on kayfabe on Day 1 or 2 in the end making feel like it's the main reason behind the recent bad years on WWE booking, making the situation into a story-line that can have certain vibes like an invasion storyline or something similar. That could be interesting and maybe fix a few things... But I don't think it's gonna happen.

AEW made darby allin champion certainly a surprise move maybe wwe will counter with something equal. Sting making an appearance is always good.

I think it's very lame the way Triple H and his team seems to instinctively duck responsibility whenever a big angle is received poorly, you could see this last year when they caught heat for the heel Cena program they were doing around WM where they tried to shift the blame onto Dwayne for backing out of the program but I don't think it was anywhere near as blatant as this last month or so of TV where they've essentially hijacked both their main event feuds to aggressively complain about the TKO handlers forcing an ESPN affiliate into the main event. I particularly roll my eyes at how they went out of their way to tell the dirtsheets that the various Pat/Rhodes/Punk promos complaining about the state of the company were unscripted as soon as they happened.

At the same time, Triple H is clearly very eager to run in and make sure that everyone knows he's the head booker when the product is doing well and fan morale is high. It strikes me as cowardly, insecure behavior, but given how that company is structured I wouldn't count out the possibility that he's going out of his way to keep his job safe by emphasizing himself as an essential hand in the product.

Havent had the heart to watch all of wrestlemania and raw was a steaming pile of it too from the highlights i seen. Sitting watching WM X8 from 2002 a proper show.

Best about it is TKO control creative in full so even the creative team have no say especially with the new direction of bringing celebrities in now heavily. Some of us just dont go for that crap.
