Rasslin’ (WWE, AEW, etc…)

I don't even watch WWE anymore but I still follow it via news articles and YouTube clips sometimes and I gotta say, this year seemed like a complete trainwreck. From the shoving of Jey Uso down everyone's throats, to the disaster that was John Cena's heel turn, to Triple H's hate boner for LA Knight, gotta say I don't really know how anyone can watch this anymore to be honest.

Nah I was gone as soon as they turned Rhea Ripley face and pushing her like Jey Uso just because (that irked me far worse than Jey, which is saying something), also you just knew the Cena heel run would suck when Travis Scott of all people helps the guy win at WrestleMania, they gave WarGames (which in my eyes was always a bit overrated) the Hell in a Cell treatment, just running it year after year even when it made no sense, Roman Reigns has more returns than matches at this point (guy did NOT need to hold the belt for over a 1000 days), lots and lots of title reigns were a bunch of nothing burgers, and considering the Rumble is taking place in Saudi Arabia (and that's not even mentioning the future WM taking place there), things are not looking good at all.

It's good that Vince left considering all the shit that happened, but the guy in his place somehow managed to make it more and more boring. But hey, the making of the WWE Vault YT channel was good, so there's that.

Triple H getting booed by a live crowd was a long time coming.

loved it lol. Folks have had enough of his crap. Tired of Big Nose goofy inserting himself into everything and making the nastiest booking decisions.

I originally thought it was just a bunch of "Cena-toddlers" getting their pants in a wad because Cena lost, but man, even the highlight video WWE posted on their Youtube doesn't paint the match with good brush. Gunther put Cena in a sleeper and Cena just lightly tapped his wrist

While not as bad as the Finger Poke Of Doom, it's up there as pretty fucking godawful

I just want to know if this end was a Cena choice or another TKO bullshit. But at least NXT stars made a really good ahow. I don’like how WWE makes 40 year old guys main events (no offense to rooster of WWE i like most of them a lot) they should push young talents from NXT faster.

I always thought the plan was that cena was going to be the first match so that they could focus on the future so that got scrapped.

From what Paul has said, it was completely Cena's choice. I also would have preferred if the bow and taking off the sweatbands and sneakers was left in the highlight video tbh. Better context to what was going on

Hunter says „things” I don’t believe in any word he says now.

I didn't mind Cena losing and I think him tapping was the right call, it's just how he did it that bothers me. It's like the ghost of 2010 Cena took charge and he made the tap out look as weak as possible. xD

And now WWE is collabing with Drake's OVO brand. Things keep getting worse. Them working with that degenerate gambler is a bad look. This is all Lil Yachty's fault. I should have known Yachty popping up all the time and even having Drake sit with him at a show earlier in the year would lead to this. I hate TKO so much. And it's wild given the fact WWE constantly shows love to Metro Boomin, a guy that was integral to the Kendrick/Drake beef last year. Nothing adds up. Actually it does. Drake is a slave to Stake and I wouldn't be surprised if TKO works with them at some point too. I'm sorry for rambling on, I just REALLY hate Drake & Stake.

And I am certain that John Cena proposed it himself. That's the rule of the last fight in this industry, that the person concerned decides how he/she want to leave.

And if you don't have a big ego or you're not fighting another veteran in a farewell match (like Hogan, who had his last televised match with Sting) or if you're not ending up in a tag team like Sting, you lose your last match, just like Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode (at a live event, but still) Jake Hager, and not like Kevin Nash or Great Khali, for example, who win the title match in their last match. (Khali after that appeared in the Royal Rumble, but we can disregard that – his last singles match was earlier for the title in his own federation in India)

Cena did something like that for the second time. After all, his heel turn was exactly the same in terms of facial expressions, and he is already quite an experienced actor...

I think I'm finally gonna stop trying to keep up through reading reports and watching clips. It's so different from the product that initially captured my interest, but I don't expect them to cater to my outdated tastes. I'm glad people have jobs and that there's multiple places to go work, but I just don't see anyone I *have to* see on these shows any more. Not that Cena's retirement affected that in any way, this is just a thing I contemplate every year for about the last 20, heh.
