I created a port of one of my favorite childhood MSX games to the GBA using this tool https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/MSXAdvance_GBA.
I never claimed to have recoded the game, that's why it's a port but not homebrew, it's no different than Nintendo releasing a "port" of Mario 64 to the Switch. It's an emulation, with a community-made MSX emulator for GBA. It's like running games on PocketNES; it's not a port, it's just an emulator running on the GBA running an MSX rom.
A port is taking the original code and porting it to a new system. This isn't a direct port at all. Not the hardest to get terms correct.

No, we only use the "port" tag when it's unofficial port, official ports are treated as official games, they don't get any special tags except for mature content (and of course fan translations).I get that, but in the sense that it's not an official release on the platform, it'd be homebrew, don't you think? Otherwise folks might think it's an official release, which it's not.

It's a direct port not homebrew.Should this not go under the 'homebrew' category?
