Personally I think 20A was the best, with all the rule freedom and every single final boss theme (except Satan's Sun theme) plus some original music. Also because any game with Sticker of Puyo Puyo is peak fiction. When I die, I need a 24/7 extension of Sticker of Puyo Puyo to play in the venue.Sun is the best one, I also like Fever a lot and mainly play the pc port and the ds version. The Gamecube/ps2 version of fever is not very good; the Dreamcast version is the best home-console port.
Mean Bean (Puyo Puyo 1) lacks offsetting, so chains don't remove garbage puyo from the queue; the first one is cute but the series only gets good with 2.
I love Madou Monogatari/Sorcery Saga, I played and finished the pc-98 games and the PC-engine cd remake of the first game (Honoo no sotsuenji), which I absolutely recommend (https://retrogametalk.com/repository/turbografx-cd/madou-monogatari-i-honoo-no-sotsuenji/), I still haven't played Curse of the Great Curry God.
Madou 4 released a few months ago so I'm patiently waiting for a western release, there's no Arle but the new protag seems cute enough, I may just be the only person in my country interested in that game.

I like anniversary games precisely for this reason. It tends to be a melting pot with something for everyone.with all the rule freedom
