VITA PSVITA: Would you actually recommenced the system to others?

The vita is an amazing machine, and I'd recommend it as an upgrade for the psp, the best psp games are better on the vita simply from being able to remap controls and the screen being a massive improvement, it's also more comfortable.

It's a little homebrew monster too.

I couldn't recommend it over an android emulation machine for raw power and specs, however the build quality and OLED screen knock those android machines outta the park!!

I'm playing it more than anything else at the moment.

as much as i enjoyed using my vita when it was new, i enjoy it less now that games are way overpriced/hard to get a hold of. modded my dsi and id recommend it instead, it took like 5 min and an sd card. honestly though if those proprietary memory cards weren't such a pain id be way more into the vita.

Yes, especially if you plan on modding it.

No;
Vita can emulate anything up IV generation + PSX/PSP games (native res) + some PS2*/N64/Dreamcast/DS games.
For the same price you can afford smartphone which can emulate most of gen VI games (HD) + all handheld nintendo games (HD) + most classic games on windows + even some PS3/VITA/Switch games.

Besides, most homebrew games on vita are ported from android. At least native Vita games seem to be slightly better then those on android.
It's a device for unfulfilled romantics.

The Best most underrated handheld that Sony gave up on too soon. Definitely!

I would only recommend it to someone who has experience with modding other consoles.

A modded Vita with Adrenaline = Vita + PSP + PS1 ::coolstafy And I think there are also gba/snes and other emulators available on Vita

When I owned a Vita and a little collection of physical games, I was glad many Vita titles were PS3 ports: I never owned a home console, just portable, so I could try titles that otherwise were off-limits.
I had the chance to play "YS8" or "Sword Art Online Hollow Realization" long before having a Switch (I mean, now I have a Switch but I don't have time to replay those titles, I'm happy with experiencing them on Vita), I still think those are among the best and huge rpgs I've ever played.

I also owned a PSP and its collection of physical games; I enjoyed psp SO MUCH, so I would recommend it 100% to a person who: does not want to mod a Vita to play psp titles on it OR thinks that they would prefer psp titles over vita so a vita would be useless in their point of view.

In this last case, though, I would recommend them to look for Vita exclusive: I bought a Vita just to play "Gravity Rush" and never regret it, and of course after that I found many other great titles!

Oh, I also owned a 3ds, I never saw it like the 3ds ouclassed the Vita: for me they were two consoles with different games, and I was very happy with both of them, never thought to give up on one or another or to choose between them.

I would recommend Vita solely for playing Muramasa if the target person does not have a Wii.

Bought it only to play Persona 4 Golden and never played anything else since beating it. I'd heard about modding it and recently got around to putting in the time to mod it.

Now I have lots of games that I have installed in it and use it way more than I did years ago when I first got it.

Man I love this question so much. I honestly don't think it's worth recommending it to most people, unless you're willing to try out some Vita games as it did have a few hits. Yes it also has Adrenaline for PSP games, however the image quality of playing PSP games is too blurry compared to playing the actual system especially the PSP Go which had sharper image quality. The Vita is still pretty cool to have and its camera app is nice it gives you a nostalgic vibe when recording videos with it it's like having a camcorder. It's just a bummer that it didn't have a huge library compared to the 3DS.

The Vita game catalog is actually really good. I haven’t had a PS3 in a long time and I never had a PS4 so I was never bothered by man of the games being multiplatform.

If Sony putted in more support it and there weren't all these mobile games on it I would of said yes. It really bothers me that games like Soul Sacrifice Delta, Dragon Ball Z Battle of Z & Phantasy Star Nova are mission based rather than actual adventure games like Toukiden 2 & BORDERLANDS 2!!! The forced touch/tilt controls and that handheld mentality really ruin the Vita for me. The only hope I have for the Vita are the homebrew ports, crossing my fingers for someone to port Kingdom Hearts even when they ported Final Fantasy X & X-2.

Yes and honestly it was robbed. If it had better 3rd party support and less proprietary stuff it would've done just fine.

But yeah, mod the thing and put every game on it.
