While there are a few games on the DS that I really enjoy the PSP gets my vote by far.

well... Eternal Punishment's PSP port is great but... it's still a PS1 game while Megami Ibunroku Persona and Innocent Sin are better on PS1 as well Devil Summoner is still a Sega Saturn game
I prefer new games over remakes or ports, but these games aren't bad, I just prefer the DS ones.

As much as I like the ds, I can't help but say psp but if you add 3ds, then I would vote that over psp tbh.

id say psp just because im more of a fan of playstation games. even though i grew up with the ds, my ps vita with adrenaline is more fun i think

This hurts me a lot to say. It's the DS. I was a PSP owner and I loved the thing, I loved that it was so much more powerful than the DS and felt better in the hand to use. The PSP also had much bigger hits, and possibly the greatest handheld game of it's generation, perhaps even of all time, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

However, the DS had the B-budget/smaller dev team titles that makes me claim the PS2 era was the golden age of video games. So many strange, unique, and arbitrary games released for the DS that could never have come to the PSP because of the higher cost to develop.

The PSP was a powerhouse, but the DS created a market I desperately wish would return these days. Not including indies, of course.

It's a hard choice. Both systems have quite a few games I enjoy. I'd probably go with the DS just because I probably like more DS games than PSP games and there's a bunch of games for PSP I'd probably like more if it had a second joystick pad thing.

because i like musou and wrestling games so much, PSP.

the DS only got 2 musou game i think?

I gotta say it's the DS for me. Even discounting Nintendo's own games and only counting the third-party games, I firmly believe the DS is up there with the PS2 and the SNES as having one of the greatest libraries of any game console ever made.

And I'm not tryna slight the PSP, I think the PSP has a fantastic library but when it comes to 'fantastic library' vs 'one of the greatest libraries', the DS comes out on top for me.

God that really was the peak era of handheld gaming.

I find myself enjoying the psp more but I can’t lie man it’s honestly neck and neck with those two consoles. Legendary consoles and libraries.

The DS and it's not close for me, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 1 and 2, Strange journey, Pokemon Platinum, Pokemon BW and BW2, all of the Digimon story games, Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story, DBZ Attack of the saiyans, Animal Crossing Wild World, SMT Devil Survivor 1 and 2 and a lot more that I failed to mention. The PSP's library also has a ton of bangers, but the DS just covers my needs so well as an enjoyer of the Monster Taming genre.

I had more time with the DS than the PSP, but I much prefer the PSP. It had less titles, but had titles of an incomparable quality. Nothing in the DS comes near the quality of Final Fantasy Type-0, Dissidia, Darkststalkers: The Chaos Tower, GTA Vice City Stories, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi Tag Team, Stat Wars: The Force Unleashed, Silent Hill Origins, Obscure: The Aftermath, ... The DS was crawling when the PSP was walking.

The DS also suffered from developers tacking on touchscreen interactions.

The DS by far. There's a reason carts are still a medium and UMDs are
well nothing.
But what to do with my gigantic UMD movie collection?

Said NO ONE EVER!! (well maybe this one guy)

Both have gems. Depends on one's tastes. 🤔
But, by sheer volume of good titles I'd say DS.
But again, they're both so damn rad.

PSP for a wafer thin margin
While DS had a good deal of games, they were diamonds on the rough compared to all the shovelware, the console was still a product of its time, by contrast the PSP had lots of winners and oftent when a game was ported to both consoles, the winner was PSP (Prefer The complete Collection to DS's IV Remake)
