PS3 PS3 Games Worth Revisiting?

I'm having a lot of fun with this one, but I heard that the actual tactical espionage action ends after act 2. It's a shame, they perfected it with this one.
I always respected MGS4's story. I just wish there was more gameplay. Literally the perfect "modern" MGS formula: wish I could have experienced Metal Gear Online. MGSV is good, but I liked how much more weightier MGS4 was.

The Uncharted trilogy.

i really liked katamari forever, even if it is just a "greatest hits" game. all of katamari's levels are so good that i honestly didn't mind. if you had to play one katamari game, it'd probably be that one.

Motorstorm and its sequels, Pacific Rift and Apocalypse, are easy contenders for best off road racing games, or even for some of the best racing games ever.
They all have a great atmosphere and style, the different sizes of vehicles lead to some exhilirating moments and cool dynamics, and the soundtrack of each game should be legally classified as performance enhancers.
Pacific Rift is my fav because of how branching the maps are, but I still can't belive that humans designed the levels in Apocalypse, with how testosterone inducing and hectic they are.

If you have the Patience, Final Fantasy XIII has great Visuals and a wonderful Soundtrack, it just takes about 20 Hours until it releases you and lets you enjoy the Combat with a full Party.
It also lacks City Hubs, so it feels very very linear.

Max Payne 3, it’s a fantastic game, especially once you get past two lifespans worth of unskippable cutscenes!!

Metal Gear Solid 4
Folklore
El Shaddai
Ridge Racer 7, one of few native 1080p60 games for the system

PS3 has tons of good stuff for it, and these days aging PC ports and challenge of xbox 369 modding versus PS3 makes it more compelling to get a PS3 version of many games. Like for myself, I got into Warframe a year or two back, and wanted to play Dark Sector, but the windows version was somewhat pain to deal with on modern system and opted to obtain a PS3 copy.

These games have versions on PC and newer systems too, but I will mention them anyway sue me:
Dragon's Crown
Odin Sphere: Leifastir
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition
No More Heroes; Hero's Paradise (Wii version is better, but if you do not have a Wii this version is just fine)
Killer is Dead (more suda good; not as great as Killer 7 but sudagood)
Lollipop chainsaw (Also suda good, not a master piece but hey)
Tales of Vesperia JP version with english patch. This version is now for PC, PS4, Switch, your mother's basement but if you only have a modded PS3...

Enchanted Arms.
A questionable but fun FromSoftware JRPG.
It's a whole mood and aesthetic that is easily identifiable as a bonkers 2000s Sony/Xbox JRPG that somehow predates FFXIII (released about 2 years later). Appropriately, it's still trapped on the PS3 and I doubt anyone at FromSoft is in a hurry to preserve or remaster/remake it. Visually, it kinda looks like Soul Calibur II: Gaiden. Has an interesting quasi-tactical-meets-random-encounter-turn-based battle system if you're into that like I kinda unironically am. Absurd but weirdly detailed world and plot.
Give it a chance if you like Shadow Hearts, but be prepared for something even campier, nonsensical, and less dark (and in many ways less, uh, good lol). It's not like there's a lot else on the PS3 in the way of semi-exclusive JRPGs (compared to other Sony platforms anyway).
ThorInHighHeels did a decent bit on it in his big FromSoftware video:

Since the PS2 thread was such a hit, I might as well throw my hat into the ring. It's last call for PS3 being cheap time. Some games are already skyrocketing. The system is hard to emulate outside of having a beefy gaming PC with RCPS3. I'm lucky enough to have a modified Super Slim running Hen.

Are there any games the forum would suggest for the console? Preferably exclusives, but the thread is open to any game that released on the system.
De Blob 2, if you don't like it. At least listen the OST

Unbelievable PS3 is still a great choice to play 720p or 1080p in 2025:

Batman Arkham Origins
Ridge Racer 7
MotorStorm Apocalypse
Joe Danger 1 & 2
Duck Tales Remastered
NBA Jam On Fire Edition
Top Spin 4
Ace Combat Assault Horizon
GTA IV
Max Payne 3
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City
Dead Nation
The House Of The Dead Overkill
God Of War Ascension
Castlevania Lords Of Shadow
Tekken Tag Tournament HD
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Soul Calibur II HD Online
Street Fighter X Tekken
Mortal Kombat 9

... And not to mention RPCS3 is doing amazing things for PC users and is in constant evolving...

Some recommendations for PS3:
MGS4, Asura's Wrath, Demon Souls, Disgaea series, Ratchet and Clank series, the LittleBigPlanet games, Killzone 2-3, and Starhawk, to name a few.

Those are the exclusives ones that I can think of worth checking out. MGS4 is still the one I come back to regularly for not only the single-player content but also the multiplayer which has had a resurgence in the past few years due to a small community of people.

wish I could have experienced Metal Gear Online
You can actually.
Save MGO
Experience MGO in all its fair and unfair glory. While you can play it off a jailbroken PS3, you’ll be at a disadvantage due to everyone else running it on a PC at 60 fps.

Even though most of the current player base is mainly experienced players who’ll headshot you with a M4 the moment you look at them funny there are game modes and experiences that simply can’t be found elsewhere in the current multiplayer gaming space.

I only ever got the chance to play Snake vs Two teams as Old Snake once. It’s a mode where Snake needs to collect 5 dog tags from the opposing teams, and the teams need to get 5 Snake kills to win.
I managed to get 5 tags in the game I played and won. When you get four tags the action music kicks in and everyone goes ballistic looking for you. It’s f*****g brilliant.

Echochrome II
is one game that I I’ve been meaning to try out, but it requires the PlayStation Eye and Move controller (I think).

I also think Wipeout HD on the PS3 is worth playing too, and I think it has a better soundtrack than the Omega collection. There’s a few changes in the Omega collection that were made from the PS3 original, such as Zone colour choices (super phantom) and the handling of user music, and audio\visual effects on the played track (Zone mode track acted like a visual equaliser and user music effected that. It was lost in Omega).

Play Super Rub ‘a’ Dub.

Damn, I own a pair of moves, one of those sonchucks and even a pair of eyes and aside RE5 and No More Heroes; Heroes Paradise thinking what else I might use them for. I looked it up and according to physical copy, it is indeed a Move required game. If it helps you though, echochrome the first game, ported from PSP is available as PSN title for PS3 at least.

Another game this made me think is Child of Eden:

Despite being released by ubisoft it is headed by same guy behind Rez, and Eden is more than less a new Rez game, supports but does not require Kinect on Xbox 360 and PS move on Playstation 3.
