First time I hear of WMAC Masters, but I think I would have loved it when I was a kid. They even had Bruce Lee's daughter hosting. I just skimmed through an episode and in between fights one fighter's telling others "Shannon gave me a book by her father, he believed that water is the most powerful force". Just milking the connection as much as possible, lol. The fights look like something out of all those low-budget American martial arts movies of the '80s and '90s that I used to like.

Post what are some shows or cartoon that you watched and loved but nobody else seems to remember?

Time Squad, a cartoon about a muscle-bound Time Cop from the far future and his gay android lover who adopt a hapless early 21th century History nerd orphan boy, he helps them as they travel through time to fix what once went wrong and becoming a family in the process.

Time Squad was such a fever dream man lol. I thought I was the only one that tuned in for a while.

It was basically Mortal Kombat meets Power Rangers for the young audience. It was really fun, and I still view it time and time again on YT. It still holds up in that campy 90's way. And at one time, the best martial arts show on tv.

These two, and I was annoyed that they didn't have an ending.

DUDE YES! The Lost World is such an underrated gem of a show! I loved it! I was even a member of a forum for fans of the show for many years!

But I don't know I would qualify Farscape as obscure, it had great ratings and good reviews back when it first aired. And it did get an ending, well at least as good of an ending as you could get, the show itself ended on a cliffhanger, but it was pretty popular so they did get a TV Movie "The Peacekeeper Wars" to wrap up most of the lose ends.

Anyway, speaking of Farscape, I don't know if its available in all regions, but the show has been officially free on YouTube for a few years now on a constant 24 hour stream of the whole series plus the TV movie. Just search for their official channel. They even have individual episodes uploaded.

Reading these posts is making me feel old in so many ways 😂

On the one hand, I haven't heard of many of the newer animated series that have been mentioned. But is fascinating to see how cartoons evolved and changed with later generations.

From my own generation, I loved Freakazoid! Glad to see it posted. I probably saw damn near every episode, and still sing the theme song to my cats on a regular basis. Was a big fan of the Earthworm Jim cartoon from that same era. Heck, they may have even aired back-to-back, at one point.

Also, today I learned that Farscape didn't have a proper ending?? Next thing you'll tell me is that the same was true for Sliders! Wait a sec...

My entry would be this fever-dream of a show. I was probably a little too young to be watching it when it aired (and the fact that it was on cable was a dead giveaway that I should've been averting my eyes) but it stuck with / haunted me for years after I first watched it. But what can I say, it definitely wasn't the typical Fox Kids / Kids WB faire that was on earlier in the day...

What a Dummy: It was a bizarre sitcom with a creepy wooden dummy that comes to life. It's a totally average sitcom and then suddenly there's a sentient dummy that moves around on its own. It was one of the weirdest things I ever saw. I'm sure it scared quite a few kids and gave them nightmares though.

Duet: It was on right before Married With Children so I watched it. No one seems to remember it that well though. The dog was cute. Unlike Married With Children, Duet only lasted three seasons.

Baywatch Nights: Imagine Baywatch. But it's also the X-Files. I don't care what anyone says. I liked it. They didn't go X-Files until season 2. That's the only season worth watching. Because it's David Hasselhoff investigating the paranormal. I liked the episode with the viking.

Baywatch Nights still blows my mind, someone pitching network television demanded they get in on the X-Files craze, and decided a Baywatch spin-off was the best way to make it happen.

They used to just try any old damn thing on TV, like "They Flying Nun". If someone had an idea, and a plan to keep the costs reasonable, they'd give it a shot.

(I'm not saying I miss this stuff though, a lot of shows thrived on there only being a handful of options in a time slot).

Yeah Baywatch Nights was awesome. I actually loved it more than regular Baywatch. And yeah the theme was fire.

I actually do miss normal TV. I think only now in the fall of TV and even Movie studios that were are getting a glimpse of what we've lost in the process of handing over all our culture to Tech bros.

okay so back to thread
la femme nikita.webp

Really expands on the premise of the movie in a great way, pretty good and really attractive Nikita and some very competent writing, not a massive budget but they did a great job working around that with the set designs and props and effects as much as they could.

Kindred the Embraced.webp

Kindred- the Embraced, a very short series which is basically Vampire the Masquerade LARP in TV format

Was watching that just the other day.
I play toons while I'm working out and 2-3 freakazoid episodes were in the playlist. Good stuff.

They finished Farscape up with a two-part TV movie:
The Peacekeeper Wars.
Hopefuly you can get to that link.
If not, I know it's hosted on archive somewhere.

Lots of those obscure shows there.
They have a Youtube channel, and all those shows are there for free in a 24h livestream

Every time I bring this and The Incredible Hulk TV show up, first thing said "why do they move slow?" 1.) Same show producer behind the scenes, 2.) Watching the DVD commentaries, they got the inspiration from slow motion NFL replays, to convey power during the scenes.
