might be the most normie recomendations ever, but Wonder boy 3 and phantasy star are my favorite games for the system and are easy recomendations, for phantasy star, try to get a rom with a fan re-translation since the original script got a bit butchered in the original translation

Shinobi, and Sonic The Hedgehog 1 & 2 are great games on the system, to me at least. Other than that, I feel the Master System doesn't get much love, at least outside of Brazil or Japan. What are your guy's stand out titles for the system?

A lot of people have mentioned great ones already, but here we go:

Castle of Illusion
Land of Illusion

These two are a pair of Mickey Mouse games that are excellent. The Mega Drive versions tend to get all the love, but I prefer these.

ESWAT

Same deal, the Mega Drive version is much more talked about, but the Master System one is great, a bit of a reduced mish-mash of the arcade version.

Kenseiden

One of my favorites growing up. Difficult, but excellent graphics. Has touches of Metroidvania since you can return to stages.

Shinobi

Despite obviously being watered down compared to the arcade, it is, in some ways a better experience in regards to balance.

My all time favorite Master System game is Sonic 1, but Asterix is a super close one! one of the best platformers of 8bit, there was a few other Asterix games on the system but nothing close of the first one:

Good ones! I can't believe Asterix kind of slipped by my mind for a second there, it's great (though I'd argue it's a bit too long).

I love The Ninja! it was one of my childhood games, i could finish it with all the scrolls not too long ago.
