post characters that look fucking stupid

I have learned to expect too many belts. Speaking of that...

How many is too many? ::thinking
when the animators decide to not include a character in any scenes that show the character's full body or if they are forced to include the character, they are shown only from the waist up.
[this is the actual reason for lulu not being included in a lot of scenes in the game]

Gotta wonder what kind of mind altering psychotropic the Capcom higher ups are into with decision making like that.

Personally, I blame Ono for all the mistakes on 4 and 5. I'm glad Matsumoto is the producer

Nomura's designs are something else. Really hit or miss

I never understood this fascination with belts. There is such a thing as too much of anything.

Razputin from Psychonauts is one of my favorite video game characters
but man he looks stupid!

in lulu's case, it was to show off the ps2's ability to render a bunch of objects correctly, the same amount in the same place, every time.

I had no idea. Interesting. But again, no one is looking at them. I mean, they are, I'm just being facetious to joke around.

it's even better than that. half the time during battles, which is when you would see lulu the most, she has her back to the camera [you don't see any belts on the back of her dress], angled off to the side, [you still don't see the belts] or when you do see her from the front, the camera is behind the monsters, so she's further away from the camera, [the belts are just visible to the eye].
all of that time, effort, attention to detail on her outfit; and it's almost completely negated by the cameraman.

Accessory overdose and its consequences. On the next Maury!

Maybe they were all big Michael Jackson fans.

Basically every character designed by Tetsuya Nomura, with the exception of those in FFVIII and some characters in FFVII.

Let's go over Nomura's wall of infamy.

yuffie-mtg-final-fantasy.jpg

Awful character, awful personality, doesn't even know how to wear pants correctly. The only reason I can figure for her popularity is because of all the PDFs in the anime community.

Tidus.jpg

Tidus has an ok personality and I get that his look might be popular in Japan because they are like 3 decades behind stuck with the glam femboy look from the 80's. All I know that his asymmetric pants and chains and fisherman overalls look stupid as fuck. And his androgynous look made him the butt of jokes and memes in the early 2000's. Not that it was necessarily fair, but you gotta read the room sometimes and not alienate your overseas audience.

Lulu was already mentioned, so I won't go over her. There are more I can mention but I'll stop right now.

Nomura slander…

…and I wasn’t invited??

Lemme sign up then!

Around 2017 and 2018, when Kingdom Hearts 3 was starting to show more screenshots, it was becoming apparent that plaids were Nomura’s current fixation. IMG_9836.webpIMG_9837.webpIMG_9838.webpIMG_9835.jpeg

Naturally, memes followed suit.

As much as I'd love to jump on the Nomura hate-train, I think most of the bases have been covered, already. I never could take FF7 seriously because of the character designs. "You honestly expect me to believe that this spiky-haired dude can swing around that giant piece of metal with those two little noodle arms??"

Funny that arguably Nomura's best design is also the simplest - the Barbie-looking lady who frequently wears either very little, or nothing at all...

(Put down the pitchforks, nerds - I love PE! Just making a point :-p )

More on topic, I also adore all things Robotron. And Robotron 64 is one of my favorite go-to games... but this guy just ain't it 😂

Well cloud has some muscles looking at his battle appearance , outside of battle everyone looks like a kindergarten child especially barret
