This is kind of an open-book exam. If you can recognize it by look, you've got the advantage of speed.
That said, if you don't have a quick-lookup memory for a game, you can still make a lot of educated guesses based on the look, the palette, perspective, and more. You might not land on the title itself, but could land near it.
For instance, the FF4 3D Remake screenshot had me spending a good 20 minutes looking for pink_hair green_eyes yellow_ribbon red_dress on boorus (Amy Rose offered a horrific aliasing experience) before diverting and following my hunch about the grass looking very DS-like (but I thought it was a PC screenshot because it was nearly 1920x1080, and might've been emulated). I thought it could have been the FF3 3D Remake at first, since I definitely played that on DS, but the characters weren't nearly potato enough. Followed that to other FF 3D remakes, and FF4 was next on the list. I caught Cecil's look pretty quickly, but was completely lost about the identity of the dancer because it's not a game that I had played -- hence, my joke about everyone recognizing the dancer, not Cecil.
Didn't matter much; I was three hours too late.
