Ok, from what I've found, it's not a game on SNES nor a DOS game. My best bet is to check the SEGA Console.

Found it, Dark Legend on the Sega Saturn. Well Played. Checkmate.

Check the airship/ aircraft on the top-left corner. It had to be like those Gradius games, but from a very old console or system. Does that help @jankusanagi.

It's been a day, give or take a few hours, so I figure a handful of hints is in order.
1 - Have a screenshot with some gameplay

2 - Ranmy nailed the platform. There may have been ports to AtariST and DOS (though I'm not so sure about the latter) but that's besides the point. I played and screencapped the Amiga version.
3 - The game has a number in its title.
4 - It was developed in New Zealand of all places.

Someone's gonna post the correct answer within 10 minutes now.
