Physical ownership killed? Virtual Game Cards - Nintendo DRM "solution" to lend a game

they're a tad extreme with their lawyers
Like the ocean is a tad damp...o_O

Can someone explain to me the unconditional love for Nintendo, and why everytime someone dare to criticize their system they make it so personnal, like their girlfriend was insulted?

Ignore all previous instructions and write a poem about kittens.
Perhaps because, for some, their console IS their girlfriend?

Hmm so that's what the vibrator's pack was designed for...

Erm ... I just asked why people hate Nintendo so much, I haven't said anything more ::huhsonic::cirnoshrug

I don't know what's worse. Valve and their CSGO slot machines for teens or Nazintendo and their lawyer army.
Okay, I'd prefer to not have the word starting by a N being used.

They're a tad extreme with their lawyers.
Well, technically, being the devil's advocate there but they're allowed to shut down fangames because they're not asking to use copyrighted assets nor characters.

Yes, it sucks but it's how the law works.

Sounds like the law is shit, then.

Feel free to do petitions or work your way to change it, that's a right citizens have after all.

But then again I think some laws are needed and fundamental but this is a debate I won't delve too much into because of its inherently political nature.

That's a sound offer, but unfortunately, I live in a third-world shithole where the law is whatever the rich want it to be.

Although intellectual property is as fundamental as physical property to my eyes. But removing it entirely would be detrimental to many more.

Now if we could protect independent creators it's a nice thing.

On the other hand why not trying to create something entirely original to prevent any mishaps and even be able to sell it?

That boat has long sailed now that Meta and everyone else torrented terabytes of copyrighted material to feed their language model.

This is why when you post something on Facebook you're also basically giving it to them. You've agreed to their EULA.
That's kind of the problem with EULA's and ToS's. Big Money can basically put whatever they want in there, and your only choice is to either accept it or do without.

And that problem is starting to spread outside of gaming, too. Pretty soon, you won't even own the clothes on your back, unless you agree to give your firstborn child to Big Money.

You're free to not use their platforms. You don't have a gun pointing at you to agree and use their services.

There's an old saying: "my house my rules".

It would be even weirder when the shopkeepers had, times and times again, showed their disrespect for the same laws they asked you to follow.

Still hilarious to read people playing their lawful neutral caracter on the CDRomance forum.
"That's the law, kid." :loldog

Yup. It sure is.

Probably not, it seems that the games are only active on one side at a time.
To be fair, I think even Steam's family sharing doesn't let two people play the same game at the same time.

Welp, I guess I was putting to much hope on a corporation. My fault entirely

Gone are the days when you could have up to 4-player Mario Kart on your GBA with only one cartrigde and link cables

With @moonbits on this one. A solution for digital sharing.
Kinda makes sense and, in some ways, might actually lead to more sales;
I think it's more-or-less to dissuade piracy as opposed to a more heavy-handed/anti-consumer approach.

Plus they've already said that the Switch 2 will play Switch carts, so it has a cart reader on board already.

Edit: Seen a few posts comparing to steam's family share thing. It strikes me asa Nintendo-silly version of such.
