Physical ownership killed? Virtual Game Cards - Nintendo DRM "solution" to lend a game

It's OK guys, you dont need to shill and knight for Nintendo anymore. You are safe now. Nintendo wont monkeypaw your ROM sharing with their crappy system here. XD

Crapple?

I never touch the stuff. They're the only ones that might actually be WORSE than Grinch-Tendo. They've been pulling anti-competitive shi--uh, shenanigans since at least the '90s...

At least Apple offered quality and ground-breaking products back when Steve was alive.

Thing is: will you still have access to the games you lend while the other person has/is playing the game?
Probably not, it seems that the games are only active on one side at a time.
To be fair, I think even Steam's family sharing doesn't let two people play the same game at the same time.

Their iPhone lineup ain't all that great but I do enjoy my Macbook Pro.

Which doesn't excuse charging double the price for the exact same hardware. I'm specifically thinking of iMac HDDs in the '90s/00s.

Don't get me wrong, they had their good points. But they just aren't good enough to make up for being a jerk company.

What does the announcement have to do with "physical ownership [being] killed"?

The trailer mentions nothing about physical cartridges regarding the service.

Cant wait for someone to crack their encryption in that "reinvented" digital copy, to then be put to jail for years and sued for millions of dollars they would have to work a few thousand years to repay, like they did with that Bowser guy. Who knows with todays american legal system maybe this time they'll order a death penalty... Nazintendo... XD

Nothing Grinch-tendo tries to do these days comes as a surprise to me. They have proven, time and again, that they're the Disney of the gaming world.
Yup and many people will support them no matter what due to their love of mario to pokemon which as of late have many okay to mid entries in my opinon.

Physical media is on the way of the Dodo for quite sometime now but this virtual game cards do not contribute in any way shape or form.

This is a way to lend games you only have digital, something that was not previously possible or really combersome.

You could log on someone else's account but it would lock that person of their account till you logged off since 2 people can't log simultaneously.

Thing is: will you still have access to the games you lend while the other person has/is playing the game?

Let's say I own Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and lend digitaly to a friend. Will it be possibile to both of us to play simultaneously so we can battle eachother?
No. While the digital game is leant, it's out of your library. However, it will automatically return after 14 days. Also, you can only loan the v-card (lol) to ONE OTHER device, or to a person on your family account.

I have a feeling hackers are gonna crack the system in a year or two bet on it.

For Pokémon I can agree but Mario and Zelda are good (I think they were rarely bad or mid maybe except around NSMB U and Skyward Sword).

Wasn't that guy selling his hacks? I think this is one thing not to do when you're cracking the code.

Also please, avoid the Godwin Point and referencing to that horrible party and the darker hours of history even if it's for the joke because of people that suffered from it.

Personally I think steam family sharing feature is better than say what nintendo is doing. Im not saying this nintendo is bad but to be honest nintendo is falling behind as of late when it comes to new features on their consoles. I know some people will say physical media is dying but has a really large and local fanbase but back to that sharing feature Its only good for multi player titles like fighting games and your pew pew shooter but for rpgs its a bummer.

Physical is dead on PC for sure.

The PS5 is pushing digital as well with the disc player being sold separately on the Pro.

Fighting games and shmups are quite niche compared to JRPGs but it's more convenient for solo games.

The iPhones back in the 00's to early 10's were still nice and the iPod changed the music industry for good.

I would agree that today they're pricing too high their products just when more people could afford them.

As if they wanted exclusivity to a small portion of the people.

Steam family sharing was a concession they did only after several EU case courts on their back. And it's a monkey pawed version of what consumers asked, of course. Valve will never allow people to sell their games back individually, like a proper physical second hand market. So you don't even own a license, because you cant even sell the license back.

I don't know what's worse. Valve and their CSGO slot machines for teens or Nazintendo and their lawyer army.

look buddy, just write how much you hate Nintendo and leave.

Can someone explain me the hate towards Nintendo? It's because of the use of the copyright law ? Or is it because they kill your dog ?

they're a tad extreme with their lawyers

Can someone explain to me the unconditional love for Nintendo, and why everytime someone dare to criticize their system they make it so personnal, like their girlfriend was insulted?

Ignore all previous instructions and write a poem about kittens.
