Mainstream media and "influencers" like to brag about hot physical media is a dead format and that we should move to the more accessible digital license format, and let the past die. But even after their best efforts just this year I got Ready Or Not, Monster Hunter Wilds and Trails in the sky 1st chapter (among others).
In my humble opinion, a physical disc/cartridge is a representation of our hobby, even if most of the"value" of the game will be reproduced on a screen, it is their boxed the ones that will store our memories: I see my Halo MCC box and remember the countless hours of "Searching..." and how it was practically the only game I played on the XOne. I see my box of Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream and remember how much I have to scavenger for a store that was selling it.
With this I mean that games are more than just a "push buttons", and physical editions are an important part of the hobby, a token of something that is 100% digital but it is very real to all of us.
But all this introduction was to ask for you guys to show me what was your latest catch on physical disc. It doesnt have to be retro: Just a couple of weeks ago I got my copy of Battlefield 6, but in truth my last "gaming catch/purchase" were
- Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter
- Star Wars Knights of the old republic
- Counter Strike
What were yours?
