Back when I was in grade school, a classmate had a euro SNES (I mentioned it before); one of his cartridges was DBZ Super Butouden 2
All of my classmates were just spamming punches, kicks and small Ki blasts (which were all button mashing techniques) and I was like, WTF?; being a veteran of DBZ Super Butouden 3 (which had a training and move list IIRC) and knew the SF-esque moves. When it came to my turn, charged up my Ki and blasted my opponent with 3 Big Bang Attacks to oblivion
Became the "king of the hill" for quite a few rounds until everyone pestered me to teach them how to shoot massive Ki blasts. I gave in and taught them, I let them play with some for a while, then when I said I'll really resume playing (I wasn't booted "off the hill" as I was basically everyone's target practice) I promptly fired a return Kamehameha and had a Ki "joust"
At first I sat back and let the joust resolve on its own while everyone was screaming their heads off with how cool it was. The next ones, however, had me secretly tapping the A button during the joust and won all the time; they got suspicious so I feigned non-knowledge and hypothesized that either being the counter-attacker or the Ki gauge level was the answer (I rarely fired off one without having a fuller Ki gauge than my opponent)
I gave up "the hill" and watch them play with each other until it was time to go home; afterwards, I heard that every time they play the game they were just spamming massive Ki blasts, forgetting all the chop-socky techniques they did before...
I was a grade-A ass back then, I know...
