Well, he's not wrong if you define recently as the past 60 years. The sexual revolution happened in the late 60s and women started demanding equal treatment in regular society and the workplace. Around the late 80's/90's it was already normalized that women had to be treated as equals and not as sexual objects.

There are some places in the middle east that are still not accepting of women in positions of power, so he's also not wrong in that there are some backward ass places that still don't see women as regular humans.

Some of you lack perspective. Genuine friendships between men and women were not common until maybe the last two-three decades at most, and the opinion that they aren't real in the way same gender friendships are was literally the standard. This is true in most cultures and for basically all of history until very recently. Men and women did not commonly just "hang out" in a non-dating context unless someone - usually the guy - was really trying to date the woman but didn't have the courage or honesty to say it. There are tons of study that show testosterone levels getting lower and lower for men across the board for several generations in a row, and women's hormonal balances have also changed a lot. These things affect how we think and act to a degree you may not realize. So we are becoming less different. These guys grew up before this happened and what they're saying is completely normal and standard for their generation. It doesn't make them "shut-in weebs". They're probably married and shit. They probably had girlfriends. Love isn't friendship.

Persona was better when Tadashi Satomi self inserted himself to date his own anime waifu based on an actress he wanted to fuck (I'm not joking btw its real)

Dude went above and beyond to ship himself with his waifs (the SMT if female protagonist) to the point he directed the games that directly shipped them. Dedication.

I mean it's not really a persona hate thread so much as an in-fighting thread, things like these aren't really productive because nobody is going to change their opinions or views from an internet argument.
People are entitled to their own opinion not everyone will like the same things, there are people out there who think Gundam Seed is good, and there's nothing we can do to change that.

I hyped 5 to death and played it on launch, got both USA and JPN Limited Edition and LOVEd Royal. I looooovee Chin Megoomi Tensei and Persona
