I'm not a super outwardly emotional person. My wife tears up quite a bit at most movies we watch, or games like Last of Us. I rarely do but there's a few things that, without fail, ALWAYS make me tear up a little bit. I'm making this thread because I just finished watching Band of Brothers (great WW2 show) for my first time in a few years, and forgot how that last episode just brings tears to me. It's pretty bittersweet— the war is over and it shows each of the soldiers playing baseball and tells what happened to them (the whole show is based off of a true story and real people), and it's just wild to hear how different each of these men's lives were after the war, good or bad. Just the realization that these were all just normal people hits me.

The ending to Return of the King, both the book AND movie make me tear up too. If you know, you know. Such a beautiful ending. Oh, and also the line: "I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee. Here at the end of all things."

The other thing I can think of (and it's an... odd one) is the ending to Super Mario World. I played that game so many times as a kid, and when I was very young (maybe 3-4 years old at most?), I loved the ending theme to the game but hadn't really figured out how to beat Bowser. Of course, my father was great at it and he would beat the game for me so I could hear the theme... It's funny since nowadays you can just pull it up on Youtube, lol. But there's something about that whole ending sequence that hits me with WAVES of nostalgia that HURT and I just start crying every goddamn time. Super Mario World is just too fuckin good, man.

I know it sounds stupid, but I still get a little emotional when I watch "The Lion King" — it has been wrecking me consistently since the very first day I popped the VHS in.

Fucking "Jurassic Bark" (from Futurama) destroys me with such cold, unrelenting efficiency as to become the only episode I skip. I just can't take it U.U!

Jurassic Bark is brutal. I really like the episode but yeah, Futurama is one of my comfort shows but that's not one I watch if I want comfort, lol.

It took intense training (yes, training) for me to get through "The Luck Of The Fryrish", too.

Fucking nerds and their deep understanding of psychological warfare lol.

I was showing my friend Episode 23 "My Home is Earth" of Ultraman today through a discord call and streamed parts of the episode and I was trying to narrate the episode a bit to not consume too much time I felt tears run down my eyes and my breath start to become in a disarray reliving the emotions that episode put me through.

Although I am mostly jaded, there are a few which manage it.

There are quite a few VNs which wreck me, from the ones I have written about so far, only 2 manage:

Little Busters! I thought I was fine and that I could handle the re-read, but the scene where they play the baseball game in Refrain is brutal, it is said that the VA playing Kyousuke was crying for real while delivering that dialog, its that moving of a scene. The Saya and Sasami routes wreck me as well.

In Ef the end of the Renji x Chihiro story makes me tear up, but its the end of the Yuu x Yuuko story which really goes for the gut punch, even already knowing what's going to happen it still wrecks me.

There are a few other VNs I know will do it, re-reading Clannad and Air is going to be brutal.

That's the point of the nakige genre anyway.

As for other things, the end of the 3rd season of Aria, not because its sad, but because its very moving.

That's all I can think off.
