The file size is due to the music files on mp3. The actual game is 8MB. To play this on retroarch you have to use the core included, a modified genesis plus core, else the game will play a fake low res "mockup". So go to your retroarch cores folder, backup and delete your genesis_plus_gx_libretro.dll and replace it with the one included with the game. After that just load content and find the game .bin.

Download from Repo

You need the custom genesis plus gx core (the .dll file) provided in the zip. It's currently Windows only.
Dude when I go to load content it doesn't give me an option to use the core for this bin, what am i doing wrong???

Given the timing, I'm guessing you got this from Larry's twitter post?

You are wrong. Actually the game is carried by gen/md hardware. Extra chips are responsible for decompression of music data (around 2MB) and extra channels.

Also what do you need from AI in a beat'em up game? It is not like it should be like in fighting games. It is not Street Fighter.
Gameplay is similar to SoR3 and Golden Axe 3 as Fonzie likes them. And they were not crappy at all.
I mean I beat the first levels barely taking any damages. I tried just standing in the middle of the screen doing nothing, and I don't get attacked. To me, it feels like a crappy game, all style, nothing else.

I paid for this ages ago, received NOTHING. I finally enjoy it!

Can't wait till this game gets totally "exploited":

• First and foremost, official global Genesis Plus GX support

• I'd love a SEGA CD conversion, just burn and pop that sucker in and enjoy!

• A CHD compressed version so a single file can load normally

• Why not... a regular MD music conversion (sound demake), with all the soundtrack in YM2612 glory!
Yes me too, I hated them for this, you book, you pay and then you don't receive anything and with an email they clear their conscience saying that the order can't be fulfilled with a lot of bullshit written to follow... Many copies were given to those who were convenient for them or for advertising purposes to the detriment of those who had bought them regularly since there were few of them.

Sorry if this has been answered but is there a functional .nro core for nintendo switch retroarch?

This is great, I want to know if there is any version of the Retroarch kernel for Retropie, I don't think the Android one works.

THIS is the right way

game works now via android retroarch
BUT
no music while playing
and after a few minutes the emulator fatal crashes :/

do this in this screenshot

1.Load Core

2.Choose "Install Or Restore Core"

3.Choose the file that you downloaded

4.happy playing.

it is recommended that you download from libretro website official for updated retroarch.

The Android version posted here in the comments works perfectly, but you have to manually install in a retroarch that has never downloaded the core of Genesis Plus GX, this is the big 'trick'.

Time Extension reported that no, it does not. Kind of like the enhanced Space Harrier II on the mini Genesis2, it doesn't run on stock Genesis hardware. Must have a custom chip inside the real cart or something,
Woah the man himself!

And the Russian posted more versions on their forum, including one for 32-bit Android at my request because I have friends who use this system.

Same here, Android RetroArch, let me know if a fix is created, also would like it if I can just use an alt core for this game and keep my official one, thanks.

The core provided by the Russian website works perfectly...
