Joking aside, my usual response is the Persona series as a whole, including the PS1 titles, just because it doesn't appeal to me. Honestly, though, I lack any significantly strong opinions in terms of what games I think are overrated or not. The only thing I care about is whether I personally enjoy it, and naturally some things just won't be appealing to me, but will appeal to others. It's a cop-out answer in some ways, I know, but it is my general thoughts on the matter.

Funny thing is I don't even hate 3S, I just can't call it the perfect fighting game and put it on a pedestal as most people do, and MVC2, well... gotta see it as what it is, you know? xD I like it, but it's got huge MUGEN vibes. Also two Wolverines, lol.

The whole Mother trilogy. Not just Earthbound. Not just Mother 3 (but doubly so for this one, its fandom sucks a horse's dick). All three games, as if people needed to talk smack about Mother 1 / Earthbound Beginnings further.

I'm still waiting for Mother Encore, and praying Cucktendo doesn't C&D it to death.

I actually agree with this easily. FFVII has good stuff, but it's not some kind of Godsent Masterpiece that its cult treats it as. It just happened to capture lightning in a bottle when it came to timing: 3D graphics were exploding (a lot of people forget just how poorly 2D games were regarded at the dawn of the PlayStation Generation), FMV cutscenes impressed every normie and nerd, overtly anime design aesthetics captured the imagination of the new American mainstream anime fanbase, as well as its angsty mature story and waifu harem.


There's a certain sadistic joy to seeing the looks on someone's face when you whip out Goldeneye and hand them a controller change as they realize it actually controls like ass and the gunplay is flaccid auto-aim frustration in confusing maps where you can run for minutes without seeing anybody else.

I challenge you to find a better console FPS before Golden Eye.

Man, come on, it's not like that, I mean... ehm... damn, I think you're right about the "butting against jammed doors", I don't find the movement clunky at all (Resident Evil with the tank controls is unplayable for me, even SH1 is better), I disagree about the rest but I agree with the part about the jammed doors. The only part that felt like a "big shitty slog" for me was the final dungeon on SH1, those puzzles were stupid.

Silent Hill plays like shit compared to Resident Evil if we're going to compare controls, combat and overall playability. I feel like the Silent Hill games make the "game" part secondary, which results in them not actually being that fun to play years later. Resident Evil, as "tanky" as it is, promotes game design over any kind of artistic value, resulting in a *good* game. If you remove the story from Silent Hill and leave the core game skeleton to be evaluated, you'll quickly realize how trash they are.

Yeah I've heard the horror stories about how broken it was on release. But nowadays after years of patches, mods, a whole DLC campaign and a very good relationship between fans and devs (seriously RWS are really good about things and always have been. Despite never really having any money, huge respect). Postal 2 evolved into quite the cult classic and has a little slice of gaming history to call its own.

So yeah since a lotta people nowadays like it after years of enjoying the fixed up version. Naturally my hater senses were tingling XD ...Still like it though. Just don't think it deserves the love it has. RWS should just make a better game than cling to such an old one. Postal 4 is fucking terrible.

True, but impact isn't. GoldenEye was the first console-exclusive FPS that actually mattered, everything else was a cute experiment or a (generally) inferior port of something. I didn't like it that much, but the 64 had like 5 good games so all my friends were playing GoldenEye constantly.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Is it good? Yes. Is it the undisputed masterpiece without flaws some people claim it to be? No. I know it was revolutionary for its time but aside form mechanics, the story is very lackluster compared to other games released at the time and other Zelda games. To me Majora's Mask should be the one higher rated

Also Ocarina of Time is too simple for my liking.

Ain't no one calling this a masterpiece the moment they see that bullshit Gill boss fight.
Well that, and the game ain't as deep or complex as people think. Chun-Li and Yun make this game a miserable experience, and I don't find parries to be that consistent. It's not a bad game, far from it, but it's absolutely not the masterpiece people claim it to be.

I'd say Marvel vs Capcom 2 but the game is like "Reused Assets: The Game", and the soundtrack is really out of place, save for the select screen. Feels like too much of an easy target, everyone knows how broken it is.

3rd Strike is like gambling, some like to go all out, and some like to play it safe, and in the case of MVC2...it's busted, there's no way around it, also the constant "Skilled" Magneto and Storm spamming doesn't help either.

Probably Age of Empires 1 good game for its time but i could swear the AI is Cheating and its frustrating and Resident Evil 1 at least for me personally never really did it for me,and i played both the Original and the Remake on Ps4 it just never was my cup of tea.I also would say Command and Conquer but i never played any of the Command and Conquer Games so i hold back on giving may Opinion on them.

Here is my how to make enemies for life list.

Final fantasy 7 I would say 4.6,8.9.10. has so much better stories and more likble charter. Only reason 7 is so love it was allot of peoples first and pure nostalgia. Yeah 7 was my first but after playing all the others it´s like top 8 on my list.

Silent hill series in general "honestly I think Project zero aka fatal frame is what I would call good horror games.
God of war series I mean it´s not bad but honestly so repetitive.

Pokemon yeah I grew up and loved the series but my god it´s been the same speil for the past 30+ years now.

Half-life honestly both games are decent but replaying them today they are just so boring.
Persona series is a decent spin of but honestly I think the main series and devil superior to be much better.

Metriod prime series making them First person just made me hate the whole series and I played all 3 and im not even interested in 4.

And that's not even to mention ports of DOOM and Wolfenstein (which are worse than their computer versions of course but still play better than Goldeneye), or games like Golgo 13 which had first person shooting segments mixed into other gameplay genres.

Just cause there's worse doesn't make Goldeneye better. It still has sluggish framerate, unsatisfying and unwieldy controls (in part thanks to the awful N64 controller), and overly complicated and oversized maps for 4 players. If it was really good, we'd be able to pop it in and go for another six hour marathon with our buddies 20 years later.

I challenge YOU to find three people who can play it for more than 30 minutes to an hour before getting bored or sick of the controls.
Like the guy said before: It's not a great game, we were just 11 years old.

Alright. I like Super Mario 64, it was revolutionary and set up 3D games on its platform. ON IT'S PLATFORM. Seems like the game these days has meat riders out the ass. I think it's a great game, but it wasn't the only 3D platformer that year, and there were better games later on in the N64's lifetime. For me, the game feels floaty and slippery. It's a great game, but I don't herald it as some second coming of Christ himself. Here's the real blasphemy. I like SM64 DS better. I don't think that one feels as slippery, and I think the extra characters add some much needed depth to the gameplay loop.

You have more moves, annoyances that couldn't be killed in the original game like the snowmen and wind up guys can be easily dispatched, and it allows for more precision and correction in gameplay. It's hard for me to go back to the original vanilla game when it and sm64coopdx exist, highly recommend it.

I'm not joking the shotgun joke romhack genuinely improves the game in nearly every way. You have more moves, annoyances that couldn't be killed in the original game like the snowmen and wind up guys can be easily dispatched, and it allows for more precision and correction in gameplay. It's hard for me to go back to the original vanilla game when it and sm64coopdx exist, highly recommend it.

Pretty sure almost all of those are PC games that were Ported, not console FPS. That and its burying the lead. Goldeneye wasn't considered great for its singleplayer, it was the multiplayer that was revolutionary on consoles at the time. I didn't grow up with an N64, and I still don't like the game now, but it was undeniably a trailblazer.
