Movies Overhated movies

That's one of my favorite Schwarzenegger movies, actually. I love movies that have the attention to detail and set-dressing that add so much to the experience. Like Sly being The Terminator in that universe. :D
I need to give it another chance, haven't seen it in 16 years.

I think the Fantastic 4 movies from the 2000s we're great and the most faithful depiction of the Fantastic 4 .

I never understood the hate towards it .
Fantastic 4 wasnt something like the Avengers or X-Men but rather more a pulpy hero-group that we're more about bizarre adventures and outlandish enemies to defeat instead the typical Super-Hero stuff . It was more sci-fi than other Heroes of the Marvel universe .
The movies doesnt underline it so well to the comics but the Cast and the Story was good and very fitting .

Except the Videogames .... those we're honest trash . Except Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 , the Fantastic 4 got always the short end of the Stock with their games .

i think this was because superhero movies weren't considered "cool" back then. it took some work to get them up there where everyone in general liked them like in the late 2000's and the 2010's.

I haven't seen them but it's more than that, comic fans hated them, moviegoers might have been burned out but it was meh at worst from what i saw, it's likely the fandom crushed the movies because of how much they diverged.

The new one however from my understanding is 10x worse than the 2000's ones.
Ironically the best fantastic 4 movie is supposedly the one never released to the public that got leaked on the internet.

usually, the fans who say that they hate the adaptation wanted a 1 to 1 copy of the original story. that is usually impossible to do in the confines of a movie. burn out is the most likely reason, since there were a bunch of superhero movies throughout the 80's and 90's.

Well i think it's a bit in the middle, but we can agree to disagree there.

That said there's no way batman 89 could have happened if it followed the comic, batman kills people in batman 89 and it's one of my favorite movies of all time, yet batman "purists" would have batman never kill, ignoring of course that batman killed all the time in the golden age, but they like to forget that.

Waoh, it’s cool seeing this get bumped.
I’m personally on the fence with mid 2000s to early 2010s hero flicks. I personally enjoyed both Fantastic 4s.

personally, i think the earlier superhero movies were better in quality. once you get into the late 2010's and 2020's, the quality goes down severely.
my favorite superhero movie doesn't follow the original comic very closely; it has the necessary parts and made adjustments where need be.

Hard to tell. Oversaturation could be the point and it wasnt in all aspects faithful to the comics which i can agree on .

I think there wasnt anything to work towards it because the movies werent as outshining like Blade, Ghost rider or Hulk did . Especially since the X-men movies were huge back then which made Fanta 4 rather mediocre in comparison if we talk about Hero-team movies . (Even when the X-men movies weren't that good after all ) Unfitting choice and timing to make the movies would be the mainpart of its rather unecessary hate .

While the Fanta 4 movie was good on its own , it came around as squeezing the cash-cow too .

yeah, that is the part that helps cloud everything up. superhero movies have been coming out quite regularly since the 80's. for every one that was liked, you had one that was mediocre and one that was terrible. and having different people in charge of making each new movie will make it feel a bit jarring to watch some of them back to back with substantially different tones and styles. the 4 batman movies from that era show that off quite well.

Yeah , i fully agree.
While i still think that Variation is the spice of life and is something that can thrive industries overall because of its high input , it has its negative points that can be overshadowing other great media or give very harsh/wrong criticisms overall .

And the 2000s Fanta 4 movies didnt failed. They were successes nontheless . But had a budget of 150 million and brought back 300 - til almost 340 million dollars worldwide . Compared to later Fanta 4 movies , these were the best ones .

I absolutely love this movie. The comedic duo that is McBride and Franco is really unmatched for me. I wish they had done more movies together.

Yes, it's the ridiculous tenth entry in the famously trashy but fun Friday the 13th series. Yes, it's Jason Voorhees in Space. But it's aware of all of these things and it simply aims to provide a fun, rollicking film and by god it succeeds, with a strong wit and sense of humour, some of the most creative kills in any slasher film, let alone the Friday the 13th series, and some pretty creepy scenes here and there.

I have no idea why most Friday the 13th fans, who were possibly okay with Tina and her psychic powers in F13 Part VII: The New Blood and Jason becoming a vengeful revenant in Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI before that, would be up in arms at this. Even as someone who only watched Part 1 god knows when as a teen, this movie is pure fun.

Unironically, that is the best of those movies.

[insert Il Nino's "How Can I Live" here]

That reminds me that I need to watch Freddy vs. Jason as a Nightmare fan... But Arrow Video haven't given it the 4K treatment yet.

Sometimes people wanna take slashers a bit too seriously.

I don't like the Halloween remake simply because they tried to rationalize Michael Myers as a kid from a dysfunctional family.

Jason x is only a bad movie if your looking for pure horror, as a horror comedy, which considering i despise horror, i consider the movie extremely fun.
TL;DR the movie is great as long as your not looking for typical horror.

Here's a good one. Thought's on this film?
This was considered a bad movie? I'll admit I don't look at reviews much to judge a movie, but I loved it.

With Wes Anderson if you're not a fan you're not going to get it? But if you know his work and go in to the movie with those expectations you're going to like it. I'm a fan of about 90% of his movies. Grand Budapest Hotel is my favorite by him followed by Life Aquatic.
