Odd quirks you have

I'm another pacer. Anytime I need to sort my thoughts or go over anything in my head, I begin pacing back and forth. I can do this for hours at a time, depending on how lost in thought I am.

I constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, do a drum beat with my teeth. I'm trying to do it less because I think it's part of why I have been having jaw issues.

If I don't do it with my teeth, I do it with my fingers, or my thigh muscles or toes or whatever. I got de rhythm inside me, mon.

I don't think I pace, but I think this is related. Whenever I have to talk about something at length, I tend to stand up or walk, because it feels like it helps convey the idea or whatever.

mmm i dont like things like nutella, dulce de leche or jam on bread that is toasted. Sweets for cold breads and Salty for hot breads.

Other than that... probably me bringing a toy to most places i go now, being a portable console, a plushie or a fidgey toy.

I like going barefoot in my home even when the floor is dirty.
Same here. I usually only like having socks on when I have to leave the house.
Probably a trait from my Hobbit forefathers.

When I eat, i eat things individually, like: i won't touch the meat until i am done with the potatoes, i won't touch the potatoes until i am done with the rice, i won't touch the rice until i am done with the salad, etc.

Another odd one I have, I generally prefer to stand instead of sit whenever practical. I've had multiple occasions when I've been a guest at a person's home and they've thought I was being either rude or odd when I declined an offer to take a seat. I just find standing generally more comfortable.

I generally can’t stand Nutella on its own or even as an addition to some snacks. I generally tend to prefer nutellas that are packed like this. This is a 15g packet so it’s only the size of your palm and is generally just a spoonful. This is really great for a snack and it’s exactly at the point where I’d get tired of Nutella.

Same. I find it not that pleasant.

I generally dislike toasted sliced bread, unless it’s part of a club sandwich where it necessitates it for the recipe.

That’s pretty cute.

I think generally speaking the added grease or burn from toasted bread also has a generally worse bite to it. I feel it’s a bit more satisfactorily to bite into untoasted bread. I think this generally because a lot of the breads that we have here that are local to us are pretty soft and fluffy breads, so I’m more used to that than something crunchy and greasy.

I wish I could send both of you some of my local bread. Shit's magnificent.

Every spring/summer I'm rocking the slide sandals with socks on too, I don't even care if I look like a middle aged boomer.

I generally prefer to stand instead of sit whenever practical.
Nice, I'm glad I'm not the only one. People always look at me really weird when they offer me a seat or whatever and I just stand instead. I'm also really tall, so sometimes it's a purely practical decision since some chairs are not meant for my height.

For my own, whenever I finish brushing my teeth I have to wash my toothbrush off, then give my teeth a brush as I really hate the feeling of toothpaste then wash the brush off again at least 6 times. Afterwards, I always have to wash my hands regardless of them not really being dirty.

Whenever I'm watching a YouTube video, I always have to put my mouse cursor between the two bars of the pause icon then I can watch the video.

For me this goes beyond being a habit. Sometimes I do this obsessively, like how I can’t drink my tea unless I finish my snack, or I won’t eat my sandwich unless I finish my fries.

so from a cultural standpoint this is frowned upon here, less so for being rude and moreso for the social signal it sends. It gives the impression that you’re rushing the person in front of you and trying to place mental pressure on them, most people feel stressed out when a patient or a worker is constantly standing as it sends a signal of impatience.

Of course, this annoyed me greatly, so it took me literal years to fully drop the habit of standing while waiting instead of sitting. It’s one of those weird social things where I inevitably put the needs of others first, which is already part of my inner personality so it’s not like I was complaining. But it definitely took some extensive effort to stop constantly standing. I still occasionally do it compulsively though.

Huh, that's interesting. Here we have somewhat of a stigma for workers sitting, as it supposedly sends a signal of laziness. There's been efforts to change this, however.

I do this exact pose and motions when I'm standing still for a bit too long. I call it my idle animation.

I originally had no idea where it came from...until I replayed P3P last year. Which means it's been a part of my life since 2012, since that was the last time I played P3P.

I tend to procrastinate when I feel forced to do something or waste my time on something I consider useless or not worth it. For example, I had to take an "optional" (but also mandatory) class called "Socioeconomic Problems of México," and considering that I'm a computer science engineer, I always thought "what the hell is this crap good for?" So I would finish assignments that could take a couple of hours in a matter of days, just because I would distract myself with anything to avoid doing the assignments for that class. In those cases, every part of me says "don't do it," even though I know I have to.

I hate not wearing socks. Pretty much no matter what else I'm wearing, unless I'm about to do something socks would be awful for like swimming, if I'm wearing clothes I also wear socks.

When I'm stressed I start singing the intro to a fictional magical anime to myself. It's Purupuru Pururin from welcome to the NHK.

I'm always naked at home, I don't care if there are guests coming over, my crib my rule.

I'm picturing videos of all the kids opening Christmas presents, and there's a constantly changing array of tastefully placed objects blocking your bits every time the camera swings over to you, like an Austin Powers movie.
