Non-Gaming Hot Takes

I don't know much about femboys. based on their appearance, they are guys without the male parts. could be all sorts of reasons for their appeal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I thought they were androgynous/feminine guys who could pass as female.

I think that it started as a meme for anime but then again bishonen existed long before.

I wasn't given much info on algebra and calculus when i was in grade school besides, "you need to know this to go to college".
While I understand that it's useful for higher levels if the base learning isn't done well then the rest will be struggling.

apparently Pokemon games use nasa level algebra for the damage formulas from what I've seen in screenshots and videos of it. it looks insane and more kids would be into it if it was brought up in school that games use this kind of shit in them.
True hahaha! Game devs back then were another beast.

for the last point: for people who love triangles? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Like there?

i agree with all of these statements. ? for you.
i'm pretty sure you made someone's day with the triangle pic.

II think the big problem is that at school they make you do algebra and equations without even bothering teaching kids techniques for everyday calculus (like when doing shopping).

What's the point of the pythagorean theorem outside of specific cases?View attachment 22324

At least school should give more real life applications for arithmetic and geometry to help visualise them.
I was gonna comment they do in elementary with problems, but i remembered some of them are like "I have this 10502030230520 M cake and i want to share it equally with my 400000 brothers, ¿How can i do it?"

that was like the absolute most common math problem. basically, how much can you divide one number by another? it's alright the first couple of times. after that, i rather they just wrote the equation without words. its maff class. not english class.

I always thought people hating on Guy Fieri was lame. It always felt like an easy target to make yourself feel better. Schoolyard tactics.
Yeah he always seemed like a chill guy. I was addicted to DDD when it aired in my country a few years ago, he always showcased to local food culture in all the episodes.

He has been doing work with charities before he was famous, being a person who shows up and feeds people during floods, wild fires etc. Dude is legit.

Comics and graphic novels are the same thing
☝️ ? Well. Comics are usually short form stories being written as they are being published. Most stories are cliffhangers and make you buy the next episode, almost always rewritten / redrawn by different artists again and again. Look up how many different artists / writers have their own spiderman comic.

Graphic novels are mostly an entire story wrapped up from beginning to end (Maybe a couple parts not over 50 like comic books), with a solid group of artists and writers that does not change. Sin City collection is a fantastic example of a real graphic novel. The fact it is character talking / thinking on a page, in a drawn style, that is the only thing that attaches it to being a comic.

Starfish are cute, Shinji Hosoe > Yousuke Yasui, instrumentals should make a comeback in Pop, and Hoobastank wasn't that bad

I've always considered G.N. to be basically the Seinen of Comics. Fundamentally they're the same format but aimed at a different audience (like how a book to teach how to read for young kid is still a codex like erotic literature).

Funny thing is that The Killing Joke was released in a format similar to European comic books.

An even hotter take would be telling that basically: Manga = Comic = Bande Dessinée (French/Belgian) = Fumetti (Italian) = historietas (Spanish) = Manhwa (Korean) = Manhua (Chinese) so if someone says "Asian Comic" for either Manhwa/Manhua or Mangas they're technically correct.

So THATS the difference...

So technically is BlackSad a Graphic Novel?

And that would make one shot mangas like Sandland one as well?

While I think that Shonen and Seinen get blury (remember that Hokuto No Ken and City Hunter were published as Shonens back in the 80's) I do think there's a clear distinction between a story meant to last as long as the author wants and a one shot story.

Personally, because of money and space I prefer short, self-contained stories like Dark Knight Returns or The Last Ronin (among other short mangas like Doubt or Pluto which is merely 8 volumes in total).

Same with OVA/ONA series of around 3-8 episodes of 30-45 minutes over a 24-episode season of 20.

In fact I'd love if media would stop thinking that longer is better for many things, either video games having to last 25 hours of play (with 10-15 of sidequesting/fillery item search), movies lasting almost 3 hours which can kill the pace or make the audience tired at the end (even good directors like Nolan have that flaw) or even songs trying to be the next Bohemian Rhapsody when it's clear that it was a one of its kind.

Maybe people have less attention than before but there's no need to make things last longer than they need to justify the price or think that "more is better".

As I said back when I created my account; my depression will never be healed

Hey I wanted drop by and write down couple more hot takes I remembered here we go:

1-fast food SUCKS: no matter what 5 star restaurant is making it , it will always LACK soul couple weeks ago I bought a fries sandwich its tasty and all but I can't help but say it lacks soul it feels manufactured like a human didn't make this you know what I mean? Compare it to lets your mother food or aunt or the neighbor food it feels like a genuine human being put in effort into it , it may not look perfect but it has a charm a feeling a human presence to it that feels lacking in the fast food.

2-german Tanks are OVERRATED in ww2: this is always discussed in ww2 circles and enthusiasts german army performance and tanks being "excellent" and very modern well no that's what germany at the time tried to show to the world they were masters at propaganda and knew its power they always presented themselves in the best light possible even their uniforms were made to look as best as possible in truth most german divisions used horses for movement , their logistics were horrible , and their TANKS actually quite sucked tigers and panthers suck the best german tank is the pz3.

3-SCP and analog horror are stupid: both include a shady organization that does shady stuff well Analog horror may or may not contain this trope even then its stupid as heck , they always make up some unbeatable monster and the company in the story is somehow unnoticed and there is no public confusion on why X happened or how this person went missing if anything it feels like a poorly mesh mashed attempt at trying to be umbrella from resident evil.

4-perfectionism is dumb: seeking the best performance or perfect performance possible is just stupid it makes you always seek the most expensive of products cuz "it must be the best" instead a better way to think is "does it do the job?" If it does the job pretty well enough then that's good for me only seek the perfect performance if its affordable otherwise its a dumb thing to seek this can be observed in the American vs russian weapons american weaponry is generally seen as perfect equipment the best of all but can be quite expensive and is complicated to maintain and work with , russian weapons on the other hand aren't very expensive are good enough to get the job done and aren't very complicated so unless you can afford American weapons on a large scale go with russian ones.

5-the world is over: you can't go a week on the internet without seeing this doom mongering crap if you read anything about ancient greek , rome or china you will realize we are living in much better times sure not the best but to think the world morally is declining and the world has no more common sense is in my opinion quite wrong the old times had pretty deranged stuff too it's just that today we can see it easily.

6-femboy memes AREN'T FUNNY: same applies for dark humor and racist memes its funny at first but quickly becomes unfunny after a while constant consumption of such memes can lead down pretty dark paths....

I have few "hot takes" regarding NSFW content and its normalization among the youth but I think it might stir up a heated discussion unless you guys want to hear them (8 people say yes then I will do) im going to keep them to myself.

Femboys are males that present themselves as more feminine, I believe you’re thinking of those who Crossdress, but femboys can also do that, just up to them. You could be thinking of trans men? A lot of things existed way before they became memes we just weren’t widely aware of them, off the top of my head I think about how men used to be the only ones allowed to act in theatre so they’d also play the female roles in some part of the world.
I'm curious why they are so appreciated by people that still ends up insisting on the fact they're straight.
Imma be blatant toxic masculinity. For some reason a lot of people perceive gay(or other sexuality meaning they could be in a same sex relationship) men as being less masculine. I’m not going to go into that because of rule 3

i found a link to the first picture that introduced me to this concept. i think you'll see why i am a bit confused on the concept.

I see, idk exactly the context (like if the caption is parody or what not). Sorry to say but explicit content really isn’t a good frame of reference, but I can see how that could be you’re first exposure to the concept of femboys.

yeah, they look straight up like women. the description says that they are dudes.
... kind of don't know where go from there. you say one thing but my eyes see the opposite.
so, i just saved the picture and moved on to other drawings on the site.

This is the last thing I’ll say on the topic because feels like it’s going off topic; Also there’s quite a bit to it that I’m not going into
I’ll give some examples
1738966456163.png

(Don’t play Genshin, best example I could think of ?‍?)
Venti is presented feminine, his design could easily be used for a more boyish female character. He still presents himself as male. He’s a good example of a defined more subjective femboy, since a lot of what character is or isn’t a femboy is subjective.

Rosado from Fire Emblem Engage is an example of a character that is definitely a femboy. These characters dress feminine (a lot of the time because they enjoy it, want to look cute), but refer to themselves as male, this is what

I thought they were androgynous/feminine guys who could pass as female.
Was referring to.
1738967432826.png

this a subjective subject like any thing that has to do with identity, but here’s my attempt at explaining the bare basics
(Sorry if my formatting is garbage, I’ve noticed it can be when I’m switching between using it on mobile vs my computer )
