Non-Gaming Hot Takes

I saw somewhere that saying "goodnight" and "good morning" is a sign of mental disparity and it makes want to "goodnight" (knock out) whoever said that. It takes 5 seconds

Dio had a better voice actor in the arcade game than in the David productions anime
I love Koyasu's voice but I agree, he sounded more monstrous/otherworldly in there.

Just listen at this:
It's still incredible how close the modern voice was to that one.

Maybe the low-fi sample made him even more threatening.

PS: I don't mind his OVA voice but he sounded more... raspy? Like an old man (which is what he technically is since he is around Jotaro's great great grand-father's age).

Dunno why the David productions guys didnt hire him back

Worrying about the others makes me a bad person

I'm getting a little tired of that bit where the youtuber gets interrupted by their attention seeking cat.

...Whoa, what are all those laser sights on my forehead all of sudden.

I’m personally not a fan of cutaways of almost any kind. If there’s gameplay footage then I’d prefer to see mostly that footage or have it cutway to something relevant like an article. If footage cuts way to the YouTuber’s living room for no reason, it can really harm my interest in continuing the video.

At first I was fine but then it became an overused joke.

I'd rather see these at the end of a video like a blooper reel that don't break the flow of it. Or just let the cat outside the room just for the recording after feeding it.

Especially if said room is either messy, trashy or just looks more like a Funko/goodies museum than a place where the person sleeps in.

I always find it funny when people get mad at the Transformers movies when they inevitably turn into giant destruction derbies.

They are about giant robots, what do they expect them to do? Get certified at the DMV (which, ironically enough, WOULD cover the entire runtime of the movies)? XD

yes, because that is realistic, and that is apparently all that matters in a movie according to people who seem to hate fun. realism is the most important thing in a movie with giant robots from another planet using earth as a battlefield; having the proper licenses and registration paperwork to travel the roads.

Having a rule clearly explained to you, you apologize and then continue purposely not abiding by it is kind of a bad look

I think that the biggest issue about forgiveness is that it's supposedly a mutual agreement, what's the point of forgiving someone who still wants to harm/take advantage over you?

And same thing with the polar opposite, asking apologies over the smallest issue and asks for respect as if they're their boss (while they're total stranger) can be seen as manipulative behaviour.

Like, something can be a hiccup but not made on purpose to hurt them yet if you apologise they could bring that back any time to request things or act as if they now have some authority over you. This is like you're now condemned to be eternally grateful towards them.

i've seen the subject of forgiveness being brought up in the comment sections of some videos that i watch. it's more about letting go of the negative feelings that you have towards a person; putting yourself into a more neutral stance than a positive or negative one. it can never be a mutual agreement. a person does it to help let go of the past and start moving forward again. what the other person does is inconsequential in this matter.

Sub shops are mostly a waste. Unless they do hot subs that utilize a conveyor, griddle, or both you should just grab what you need from the market and make your own.

Chocolate with hardly any sugar in it is the best chocolate.

NOT EVERY FUCKING PUBLIC DOMAIN CHARACTER HAS TO BE AN SLASHER KILLER

I solemnly believe that ear buds are what brought the rot that this what's considered music now. Even the latest model you can barely hear with. It serves more as a fashion statement and background noise maker than a device to listen to music.

So... Cocoa?

Public domain is a double edged sword. It's great for creative liberties regarding some characters (although parodies could still be made since those are tolerated such as Austin Power being a spoof on James Bond since the books will enter public domain by 2035 in many countries) but in the other way it's also bad for "artistic integrity" of something.

When you hear public domain music (especially the Classical era ones) most are thinking of them as "music for old people or listened by pompous rich guys" rather than "complex and interesting musics"...

Unless you're remixing them (like Parodius did) or using those in humorous ways.

I'm wondering if in the future people will merely associate Winnie the Pooh and Mickey as "horror slasher characters" than what they were at first.

Thankfully we'll still see interesting ways to use those characters depending of the artists around.

I'll even go further and saying that music as a whole has lost something with the MP4 players, mainly the iPod because of the way it changed the entire music industry.

Carrying a Walkman with a cassette was different than having a device with 8 Go of .MP4s.

lots of food combos could be considered weird. i had a spanish teacher in high school, and she said it was weird to be served sweet tea with ice in it when she first came over to america. that wasn't very common in spain where she was from. it might be more common nowadays, but not back when she was younger.
if i remember correctly, there are an insane amount of ice cream flavors over in japan like soy sauce, squid ink, wasabi, corn and many more.
i saw a video of a guy trying to assemble an american hot dog, and he desecrated that bun. i've never seen someone open a hot dog bun that way. it was insane.

there's bad cooks everywhere.
and a lot of dishes that are popular or well known in different aren't guaranteed to be known in other parts of the world. i doubt most british people have ever had a hot dog, and the guy in the video not knowing how to open the bun isn't that surprising.
