That is merely the tip of the Iceberg in trends such as waifu culture and all it's derivativesI follow a manga about figure skating called Medalist, whose first season (anime) just ended.
Yesterday I saw people all over socials celebrating the main character's birthday, and while I love precious lil Inori to heaven and back, I will never understand celebrating the fake birthdate of a fictive person. I mean real life people's birthdays make sense, it's the day you were born... duh. But while a fictive character can also have a mom and dad and a canonincal birthdate that the author decided on... they are not a real living person, so they have no real birthdate.
Like, I am all for being so attached to a fictional character that when you read the story they feel real to you, because that's a sign of good writing. But please don't go so far that you celebrate the "day they were born".... because they weren't.... that's going too far in appreciating the character in my stupid opinion.
I see... always good to be reminded that no matter how weird you think you are... there are worse. You may have a foot fetish or whatever... but at least you don't celebrate fake birthdates because you have an unhealthy obsession with a fictional character. That is merely the tip of the Iceberg in trends such as waifu culture and all it's derivatives
I dunno if it could be risky to say but I think that blaming capitalism for anything awful happening to you is like blaming the ocean for people drowning.
Sure, this is one of the biggest flaw about water but this is also why we must learn to swim and having life jackets. Same thing in life. Be prepared.
So you’re not allowed to be upset at an exploitative system for exploiting you?I dunno if it could be risky to say but I think that blaming capitalism for anything awful happening to you is like blaming the ocean for people drowning.

It's easy to learn about how it works. Not even with expensive courses. Most of those people don't even know what capitalism is outside of "free markets and corporations exist".
"Exploitative" is pretty relative when there are ways to work around or making things less tedious. Work smarter not harder. So you’re not allowed to be upset at an exploitative system for exploiting you?
That’s such a reductive way of describing it (and I think we come from pretty different places so our definitions are different by nature). But whatever, I don’t want to engage in this because I don’t want to accidentally break the no politics rule. It's easy to learn about how it works. Not even with expensive courses.

It's still the only system that worked so far compared to others that have been tried.
Do it at a conventionI would never be that brave.
I'm still wondering what is the clear line about the whole "no politics" rule as I'm talking about an economic system not a political belief (unless economics is intrinsically political therefore anything related to console and game pricing as well as auctions, bargains and even exchanges should fall under politics). That’s such a reductive way of describing it (and I think we come from pretty different places so our definitions are different by nature). Sorry for engaging in the first place but I don’t think this topic is appropriate for this forum.
