Nintendo's "Two Floating Hands" type of bosses

I've noticed that in many games (especially from Nintendo but there are some rare non Nintendo cases) we get to see two floating hands that you have to fight against, sometimes with a giant head that is the main part of the boss (and the weak point to defeat it)

How come they do this often? Which is your favourite and what is your non-Nintendo example?

I love The Hand at the end of Super Smash Bros (although, I don't remember if it's actually from SSB or if it's something Remix added).

You also fight against a giant hand in The Legend Of Kyrandia 2.

Master Hand existed since the very first Smash Bros game.

Melee is the game that added Crazy and Giga Bowser as new staples of the franchise.

I've wondered the same thing, lol. I think my favorite one was in Odyssey (?) where there's the floating head that shoots the fists at you, and you have to take control of the fists and smash them into the head. The OOT boss was also interesting...

My fave one is definitely Bongo Bongo at the end of the Shadow Temple in OoT.

Non-Nintendo ones though...hmm... Well, you've got High Lord Wolnir in Dark Souls 3, The final boss of Taz-Mania for Sega Genesis (if wings count), plus Gol-lath and Gol-Set from Titan Souls.

It was their way to deal with giant enemies that needed to move their hands to attack you. Hell, this was common in other videogames not related to Nintendo, and still are

Way better to leave it as a giant head with two moving hands

Why they keep it for so long?. Easy enemy design
