Nintendo's Lawyers Deal Potentially Fatal Blow To ROM Sharing

Nintendo has just scored a major win in a long legal battle against the filesharing site 1Fichier. The French Supreme Court ruled in Nintendo’s favor after

Here's the article I found earlier today. The gist of it is, that Nintendo managed to win a court case against 1fichier in France, to take down copyrighted content, particularly ROMs, opening up some pretty bad legal precedent. IIRC, the old CDRomance links were powered by 1fichier, weren't they? I know I've downloaded some stuff from that website before.

Anyway, another reminder to keep your retrogame ROM collections well backed up!
