Nintendo has struck again! But read it for yourselves and form your own opinion. https://www.heise.de/en/news/Nintendo-wins-court-battle-against-defiant-streamer-10966596.html

It's not much of a shock.

This dude was streaming unreleased nintendo games that he aquired "less than legally".

Honestly, my main gripe with this whole fiasco is that it's likely to shine more light onto retrogaming and using roms/emulators again, and that could mean trouble for places like RGT.

Both sides of the lawsuit are fucked. Nintendo are fucked because they're Nintendo. This streamer is fucked because he hasnt' got a single chance in hell of avoiding this punishment.

Previously on RGT lol:

I'm not favorable to Nintendo for their constant lawfare against everyone... but this guy was pretty dumb to make a target out of himself so publicly.

Nintendo's stance on ending piracy and emulators because they still make money from their every game and console:

lolol

As I said in another thread, guy was asking for it.

He was doing the equivalent of lighting up a runaway and setting up beacons for Nintendo's lawyers to land.

Since the very dawn of file-sharing, piracy has always been about secrecy. Those guys uploading MP3s to IRC channels didn't do it because they loved the format, but because that was MUCH harder to track than regular websites. Why did the FBI set up the so-called "Honeycomb" sites? Because people who came in to download files illegally could be trapped on a logged "net" -- even game crackers from way back when anonymized their files because credit came with real heat.

To pull this crap in 2025 is just asking for trouble.

This is just a big "You Play Stupid Games, You Win Stupid Prizes." It's especially when it's Nintendo, that is like a very trigger happy dragon. It's just not going to pan out well for anyone this brazen.

Gangstas who own the street like him won't hide what crime they commit because all the stupid shit they do masturbates their ego and they love the attention they get for it. In his mind it was like winning a Nobel prize when he lost the lawsuit and had to pay money to Nintendo by being a clown and bitch of a company just like he barked for it like a dog. He doesn't get real OGs fucks with Nintendo in front of them and they can do nothing about it and they actually win the lawsuits against Nintendo and own the whole universe!!!! lolol

Nintendo is brutal when it comes to this type of stuff idk why the streamer thought it was a good idea brag about getting unreleased games. edit probably off topic but this is why I'm so nervous to upload any Nintendo gameplay or any big company game on YouTube . these corporations might just strike down the video for whatever reason....

I hate Nintendo, but the guy should've known you don't stream this kind of stuff without risk. Remember the poisoning meter from Dark Souls? yeah, there's a Nintendo meter like that when certain risks are taken. Youtube is too visible a platform and too happy to comply; it shouldn't be used for this.

On paper Nintendo is also against people modding their games and put videos about it on Youtube, but they only strike mods that is about what they may plan to do for their next games like BOTW multiplayer mod, playable Zelda mod, any large-scale mod that is like a game of its own, et cetera. As long as you don't put a video that you show yourself entering the game via an emulator you are fine. Those who also talk about how to use an emulator to play a Nintendo game better at risk too yet Nintendo didn't do anything to most of the Youtubers. They are selective on what video and Youtuber actually cause damage. They would be extra sensitive about Youtube channels encouraging pirating Nintendo content and make money from it by having really a popular reach though.

However Nintendo only allows positive reviews of their games in the context of a let's play video which you may read here:

So Nintendo is pleased you advertize their game for them but they want you to talk about the game in the video, they do not allow simply silent "walkthrough videos". And I publish my videos about how I ruin Nintendo games on me Youtube channel lolol:

Outside of the obligatory Nintendo being Nintendo, yeah the guy was just risking it by streaming the games early and Nintendo doesn't play around with anyone who tries to be ahead and show off the game before release. They always find a way to prove their point.

Lol, but i thought they let creator's talk about what they wanted to since 2018? basically i thought the whole Nintendo creator program was over. because negative Nintendo videos get lots of views like positive ones.

This man said “You run a company, I run the streets”.

Actual legend. And idiot. Idiot legend.

It’s like watching that one guy in school who’s a horrible troublemaker set fire to the teacher’s conference room and book it out of the school. Like, you know he’s toast and was stupid to even try, but he puts on such a show that you’re just happy to have witnessed it.

Honestly, life is too short to think about Nintendo's pointless battles.
But it's funnnnyyyyyyyyyy. Better than wasting your life watching Netflix. ::winkfelix lolol. Fiction can be fun but when it really happened it is worth to learn about such stuff yo. It adds something to my life like witnessing some random interesting even in a video game you play!!!

I mean it's funny ngl although it sucks that all we got nowadays is business men or women as Nintendo CEOs like shouldn't a gamer be in charge ?

Well then, have fun!

But the good news is that Nintendo is getting screwed over in Japan and America 🤣

Honestly if Nintendo actually cared they would've had virtual console again without the bullshit paid online service.
But if Nintendo has normalized piracy like this video says that's very funny to see.

Business in video game industry has 4 aspects regarding this topic:

1- In any industry people only cares about making money. It's their job. In that context for decades video game industry doesn't revolve around gamers, there are only people who find their way in these companies just to make a living. Naturally they understand "gamer profile" in the eyes of an ordinary man that "gamers are primitive and horny" and this is why they spam cinematic shit simple pew pew action game with sexual characters and calls it a game. They cannot comprehend the gamer profile who actually plays games for fun and to relieve a meaningful fantasy they cannot experience in real life. But I don't mean getting an NPC GF who loves you just because you picked the right dialogue options and did a side quest for her lol, I mean actually having a meaningful fun adventure in a cyberpunk universe, but what we get is "my daddy is gone so I'll look for it" like half of the society having daddy issues already lol.

2- You can't profit by doing what you want so you gotta play according to the current state of the world, your rivals, your customers and your target audience. Most of the people who buys a game anymore are the type of people that have very diverse interests other than playing a game for fun. They wanna see good graphics, they wanna cinematic games, they want sexy people, they are a virgin so they wanna cope with lack of their sex life with dating sim elements in pseudo-RPGs, et cetera. However Nintendo "kinda" does what they want despite this and they don't give up on their ancient roots that their games are always same shit with different skin and their games keeps lacking quality each generation because they realized people support Nintendo because of a logic no different than why they always support whatever is a popular sports team lol. They already established an identity and got popular, they realized no matter what they shit people will enjoy it because they have a mindless who will always floats them up.

So, Nintendo doesn't do what is unnecessary. They know their cult well and play their card right. That's business yo. No company has to care about actually releasing a meaningful fun game that sells right. Therefore they know developing a decent game is costy they just spend what is realistic to spend and expect to make profit that is like above 2 millions. That's why video game industry spams mindless pew pew action games with cinematic stories and gameplays that either way it has sexual BS and call it a day because this is what society wants, and that's why a company using insanity of people against them to make a profit.

Long story short there were times developers wanted to develop a game they wanted but mostly they failed because they didn't have the right people and/or the budget. Budget of developing a video game can really increase way more than you planned and when it happens naturally you just can't find a gold mine to support you. And then you can't always find the right people for the job. But once in a blue when all planets draws a straight line there will come a time that a developer team will show up and actually realease really good games but this is once in a blue time anymore because video game industry shifted from "let's allow teams do their thing because they are gamer" to "dude people don't even wanna play a game anymore so just bash cinematic and a sexy anime girl or some shit" lol.

3- When tons of people are on board of the Titanic they all drag the ship into the nearest ice berg. Meaning: The head of the team says X, company's managers says Y, CEO says Z, shareholders says L, things goes so complex they write and draw mathematical formulas to develop a concept of the game that would sell by following good old data on what kind of stuff people like and everyone chip in like a headless chicken on how a game should be, shareholders are like "make the game FPS and have sexy girls like that game called Overwatch or something" and then other shareholder says "fuck if I know what video games are but my grandson plays Valorant", and some granma says "these games are too violent make it more like a movie" and some guy says "kids love Minecraft graphics" and the game they plan to develop is Witcher 4 lolol. This can change the game over and over again while every aspect of the company drags the project down and they change shit so hard they lose the plot anymore. And then they come up with "good idea bad execution" games that couldn't become a proper game but they think "we can't cancel this game because we already wasted so much money on it so let's release it in buggy state" and they sell it with pre-order and swim-suit DLCs and suckers buys that shit lol.

4- Watcher personality killed the video game industry. Long story short when watching entertaintment like movies and tv series was seperate from "doing entertaintment" like playing games they tested the water with releasing cinematic games. It turned out gameless games you mostly watch sell so well non-gamers plays such games and wow actually those who wanna play cinematic games way more than "real game gamers". This is the moment with PS3-era killed the video game industry in stages and industry replaced with people who knows a thing about movie industry and they bought their shit to kill gaming industry. They all turned it into "time waster games" industry. As a result characters talks to talk, they won't shut up, after 10 minutes of gaming they talk for half an hour again and between every scene you just pew pew shoot mindlessly they call it "AAA game" lol. And as a result I never liked to watch movies and tv series and now I don't like to play new games anymore because they have nothing to play. Mostly we already had actual gamers developing a game and now it is so rare that a game actually designed for gamers who actually want to play a game. The BS of trying to satisfy most people, trying to attract non-gamers and especially targeting insane people on Twitter killed gaming for good in 2016. Now gender identity options in video games are way more important than actually game having a gameplay SMH.

True Twitter tends to make things worse for no reason lol. but yeah idk why corporations think it's a good idea to try and please or satisfy everybody it just won't work in the end. newer games even some indie ones suffer from too much ideas or gameplay just sucks in general. either way playing older games avoids this problem entirely XD. but business wise i hate how every new gaming ceo is a business man. hell I'm surprised that these companies aren't gone yet because of their bullshit decisions like pricing out their main audience cough Nintendo . and I've been ranting for too long I'll stop now...
