I think the only Switch 2 games that I'm actually interested in are that Donkey Kong game and Duskbloods, whenever that actually will be released.
It's weird, I'm genuinely a fan of Nintendo, but the Switch 2 just has nowhere near enough interesting games to sell me on it so far.

It is really too early anyway. It's unreasonable to expect a console to have anything to show for itself in less than 6 months. Moreso as dev costs and dev times only go up.

That's what scares me the most, all these development costs. I think this will limit some things we will if we are unlucky have to do without some good things if these costs continue.

True of course, but usually you'd see them line up some longer-term big name releases by this point, no?
It's been a while since I last paid attention to a console launch cycle, but didn't the Switch have stuff lined up back then? Or I might just be misremembering things. I suppose there's Metroid Prime 4, but that game has been just beyond the horizon for ages now.

Maybe I really am being unreasonable... to be honest, I'm just generally indifferent to consoles these days, so it's quite possible I'm the problem there.

WTF is Kusan: City of Wolves? Dollar Tree Fatal Fury? Entire 2026 pass so far for me.

I found a few more that will be released in 2026
📌007 First Light
📌The Duskbloods
📌Human: Fall Flat 2
📌Maseylia: Echoes of the Past
📌Pokemon Champions
📌Splatoon Raiders
📌Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions
Especially The Duskbloods looks really good, I'm curious what that is.

No Mega Man...
Unfortunately no but who knows, I'm sure something new will come along.

While I'm not a massive fan of those two games I'm glad we're finally getting a new entry for Rhythm Paradise and Tomodachi Life. I really want to see more old IPs that didn't get much love recently from Nintendo.

zzzzz
Every single one of those are on steam anyway.
I'm sorry but neither Rhythm Paraside Groove, Tomodachi Live Where Dreams Come True nor Splatoon Raiders will be on Steam.

Looks like a rip-off of Hotline Miami
To be honest while it's a game that looks like another I don't think one indie game should monopolise an entire gameplay style.

No Mega Man...
That's up to Capcom... Once they're done with RE and MH.

I'll play that Scott Pilgrim game elsewhere whenever it comes out on other stuff. The other stuff I can miss entirely, I guess.

The day Nintendo starts to focus on good old games, pigs will fly. We can wait a long time for that.

Splatoon won't, but you can bet that the other 2 will be playable on my PC
I haven't said PC but Steam, the person just hasn't fully read the list.

We're already getting an entirely new Donkey Kong game after a decade.

I forgot that the last Rhythm Paradise was on the 3DS in 2015.

Is there a reason why we didn't get a Switch 1 entry before?
That's the problem with Nintendo, they just do whatever they want and of course they only care about the games that bring them profit. The rest doesn't matter to them.

To be honest I don't know if it's entirely a bad thing to produce a game sparsely instead of shoehorning a yearly release (like Ubisoft did with Assassin's Creed) because they'd privilege quality over quantity. I'd rather see one great 3D Mario game every 7-8 years than just a good one every 2 years with the same ideas. Galaxy 2 was the exception and I hope it'll stay as such since making Odyssey 2 would feel too similar.

Also the whole "that brings profit" aspect of making a new product is applicable for any company in every field since it's their primary purpose to make benefits and return on investment so that's not exclusive to Nintendo.

Difficult to say what is going on in their heads but it somehow doesn't make sense to think about it.

I can't imagine I'll be too worried about the Switch 2 until I hear about a new Fire Emblem. Even then I may take my time, as Engage wasn't really my favorite.
