Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has stated to shareholders that the Kyoto-based company has now raised its base salary for employees by 10% in a move to retain talent. Here's what Mr. Furukawa told investors today.

"We maintain salaries at an appropriate level. We believe it is important to ensure that compensation remains at an appropriate standard. For example, we have increased pay, including raising base salaries by 10%"

That's great. It makes me wonder how long it had been since there'd been a flat pay rise before this, but it's good news nonetheless.

Nice to see salaries go up, in line with everything else. Although I dunno, it feel like it needs to be more than 10% for staff in Japan though, the Yen is…oof. It’s really hurting.

Love hearing this.

Can't help but feel like the announced it publicly to low-key flex on MS and Sony who are fumbling their wares ATM. Could be wrong. 🤔🤷‍♂️🤭
