Nintendo fights against emulator

I went out with some friends the other day and a girl was playing Legends Arceus on her phone lmao. They can try but I think stopping it forever is impossible
I've been at the point where I think companies are just fighting a losing battle against piracy for years now.

The newer consoles have deeper security levels that have not yet been greenlit by the court of law, so while Dolphin, or snes emulation is legal, bypassing the newer securities is not yet legal and N is pissed because the redditors and youtuber android benchmarkers are dragging their asses all over N's IPs. People have not yet learned that just because you found a cool thing online does not mean to share that info with literally everyone in the world yet.

Sorry to say, but "emulators" technically are NOT legal...YET. That being said, also copyright laws can change for each country. Its why I don't like politics, and definitely do not like certain judges. A bad judge can F### everything up.

Emulation by itself isn't illegal.

On the other hand wanting to play games that haven't released yet (because of a leak) is simply because you cannot legally get the game yet. An emulator talking about being able to run a game before its release is basically like telling that you've bought hairpins to open other people's locks. The hairpin itself is legal but the action isn't.

So the best is to keep it quiet and not for products that are still commercially available.

I don't understand people making (unfinished) fangames like Zelda under UE4/5 and posting trailers online when they're certain it would get C&D.

AM2R got finished before the release.

For free you can mostly do what you want or for yourself its mass adoption that blips the radar. Pkmn took down free palworld mods though so i guess free isn't safe either.

I'd be more interested in seeing a real $$$ lost from people no longer supporting companies that employ shitty practices on principal. I bet that number is bigger than $$$ lost to piracy or copy infringement.

Wasn't the Pokémon mod using models that were copyrighted or behind a paywall from the mod author?

It's insane to me we got a gamecube emulator on switch 2 online with wind waker. we literally have wind waker HD.

I think the reason Nintendo was so harsh on Switch emulation is that it had better upscaling that the switch 2 will. that's not unlike what they did with am2r.

Donation =/= payment. it's a known legal loophole. They handled the situation so bad.
Well yeah technically but it's still risky.

I'd say that emulating a current gen game is taking a risk. Older consoles being emulated are more or less safe.

I think what Nintendo is doing really makes no sense what's the point of fighting against emulators ? Even Nintendo's lawyer says the emulators are legal, but if you play a game on them it is suddenly illegal makes no sense really. What do you all think about console emulator ???
In fact Nintendo can't do anything against old consoles like GameCube,n64 or gba but I think they will something for switch.
